Household makes poor business choices.

Twice while holding this card, I was not notified by the company that a new card was issued. The first time this happened, I attempted to make a payment and discovered my account was blocked. It took three months to receive a new card. Shortly before the second time, I received a letter from the credit card company telling me if I didn't call to cancel a service provided by a company called Trilegiant, I would be charged a monthly amount of $80+! I had not requested the service, and thought the letter was a scam. I reported the matter to my state's Attorney General, and sent both the credit card company and Trilegiant a demand letter to cease any attempts to charge my credit card. I also sent a copy of the letter to the Attorney General. Further research showed Trilegiant was sued in California, Florida and other states by those States' Attorneys General for this same sort of scam. Household was irresponsible when choosing Trilegiant as a business partner. If you have Household's card be very careful to review their correspondence.
Most Attractive Feature: lower interest rate than many

Only so-so credit card to have

While I have not had the problems the other people have on this posting I will be keeping a VERY close eye on the business practices of this company. Part of the problem may be that they are backed by Household Credit and my past experience with the parent company leads me to take the claims of abused customers seriously. When I moved my balance to Citi, Household launched a blitz campaign to get me back, but none of thier offers even matched my other credit cards, much less beat them. I wonder how they stay in business with such rates? Benefits to this card? Frankly, I can't really see any other than the Union logo on the front.
Most Attractive Feature: It's a visible representation of my Union
Least Attractive Feature: Rates NOT competitive

This credit card company suddenly changed my limit with no notice. I had a good limit due to a lifetime of excellent credit history. When I called they thought it was no big deal and stated that due to my very bad credit ratings they were forced to cut my limit by thousands of dollars. I double checked my credit reports and even asked my bank to check and my credit was considered excellent. I don't know why they gave me a large limit in the first place if I was such a dead beat and now I get offers from them at least every month that "We want you back!!! You are preapproved!!!" After I paid them off and closed it I swore I would never go back. They never even acknowledged their error or where they got the wrong information.
Most Attractive Feature: Easy to get.
Least Attractive Feature: They can't back up their decisions.

I was attracted to this card because of the introductory rate which was very attractive at that time.
However, I have found this bank to be very conservative when transferring balances for additional considerations.
Also, I had written them several times about a charge dispute, and I just happened to check my e-mail and discovered that they had indicated that the dispute was being closed because I didn't respond to their E-mail request in a timely manner. I was furious because I could not believe that we had become a nation where we relied on E-mail as sthe Primary and sole alternative for business communications.
I plan to close out this account immediately. The Cusstomer Care Department stated that without apology it is their belief that if they receive correspondence in one form they believe people want to be communicated in the same form.
Also, it seems to take some time for them to post your payment from the time it is sent in.
Most Attractive Feature: Introductory transfer rate
Least Attractive Feature: Customer Service Communication

This company changed my credit limit with no notification, causing their convenience check to bounce. They fined me because of their bounced check. Customer service laughed about it when I called; said I could I write a letter of complaint but "It won't do you any good--hee hee hee." It is paid in full now and I am reporting the to the attorney general.
Most Attractive Feature: Anyone can get one.
Least Attractive Feature: They change your limit without notification.

Household Credit Service's customer service representatives are extremely uncooperative when trying to aid their customers. First, they barrage themselves with insipid phone messages and banal music in order to acquiesce its customers. Then they switch you around from associate to associate until you become so angry that they finally give you a supervisor. I sent this company two money orders. One of which was in the amount of $700 and the other in the amounto $400. Would you believe that they did not credit my $700 money order. They told me that I should not send two money orders together. Then they told me that it was my responsibility to trace the lost money order. I cannot trace it for 60 days, that's what the post office told me. Be wary of this credit card provider. They are a menace to all of us. Their poor customer service will result in the loss of my patronage.
Most Attractive Feature: It provided credit as any other card would do.
Least Attractive Feature: Customer service does not address the needs of the card holder.
