"Payments REGULARLY blocked"
I have had payments blocked over 12 times in 4 months and every single time I spend outside my home town. Useless and frustrating if you travel at all. Then you will have to fight their automated branching system (20 minutes+) to be told how great it is that they have protected you from fraud as it is an irregular payment.

Most attractive feature: The air miles for spending
Least attractive feature: The service is astonishingly poor. Payments are VERY frequently blocked.

"AA needs a new credit card partner"
They have so many breaches in security, you get issued a new card frequently. It is a hassle if you have auto payments established because bills do not get paid, you have late payments and it wrecks your credit score. AA should partner with another bank or credit union! In addition B of A won't tell you what was breached. Might need to leave them because we have had 3 new cards in 2 years. That is not acceptable.

Most attractive feature: The card has some great benefits.
Least attractive feature: Bank of America.

"RUN AWAY FROM ALASKA AIRLINES CARD!"
If someone ever attempts to scam or cheat you, Alaska Airlines card will make you pay for it! That is what happened to me! I reported a fraudulent claim and they called the scammers and decided that I needed to pay for something that I never had authorized or approved of! I used to recommend this card to my clients, as a travel professional for over 20 years - NO MORE! They will make you pay for things you never ordered because it saves them from losses!!!! Stay away from this card! Stay away!

Most attractive feature: Miles - if you are interested in being a victim of crime
Least attractive feature: This card company will not stand up for their cardmembers

"I love this card and use it for EVERYTHING! 4 Free trips in my first year of use"
I have had my card less then a year and have enjoyed a free trip to pdx to las, companion fare pdx to hnl and 2 round trips from pdx to hnl! Basically 4 free trips!
I have been all over any opportunity to earn bonus miles and its paying royalties!
I got the initial bonus for signing up, did the wine club, dining club, referred a friend, traveled and bought 1 ticket, spent an average of 3000 per month (which I pay off monthly and thus far have had zero fee aside from the annual fee $75 I believe) I love this card! Good Card, I highly recommend it.

Most attractive feature: The best features are the Air Miles and Companion fare
Least attractive feature: Annual Fee

"Lies, Lies, and more Lies"
Bank of America lies when they tell you you get 25,000 miles upon approval. First evidence is when you get your welcome packet and they tell how you can get your 25,000 bonus miles. You get 20,000 upon approval and then another 5,000 after $750 in purchases. Oh, is that what 'upon approval' means? I made the purchases and got the 5,000 miles, but 3 months later I still don't have the first 20,000. I have called several times and get a different story every time. The latest one is that it takes 2 billing cycles to get the 20,000. Not two months mind you, that's two billing cycles with a balance. If you don't use the card I guess you never get your 20,000 bonus miles.

Somehow, Bank of America thinks that forcing you to use the card for 2 billing cycles means the same as upon approval. English is my first language and in my wildest and most generous interpretation of "upon approval" I can arrive at no other conclusion than this is an outright and deceptive LIE. If you're ok with doing business this way and travel a lot, great card and benefits.

As for Alaska Airlines side of things, the bonus miles are wonderful for getting free and discounted flights, until you realize how they are applied. The best deals are at odd times or with long layovers. Anything convenient is going to cost you more, whether in cash or miles. The same thing is reflected in their pricing structure for flights. So it's really not an issue with the Mileage Program, just know that this is how Alaska does things.

Most attractive feature: The bonus miles for signing up.
Least attractive feature: Bank of America and their their outright lies advertising this card.

"Flying with dog."
My dog nearly died when we flew from L.A. to Zihuatanejo. The sat on he runway for over an hour. The runway attendant drop her in her kennel as he was lifting her onto the plane thus no water or food and added stress for her. We were ordered onto the plane by the captain when we complained that she was still on the runway. She was the last thing loaded onto the plane and the last thing to come off the plane in Zihuatanejo where it was really hot. When she came off the plane her kennel was unbearably hot. She was panting with no water. Complained n writing to Alaska Airline with no response. They treat your pet with as much respect as a piece of luggage. Will never use them again and never let them put your pet in the cargo hold.

"Stompin a CARBON FOOTPRINT"
I redeemed miles in anticipation of dumping this card. I wanted 2 round trip tickets from DC to Key West and used AA, one of their partners. DC to Key West involved a change in Miami was a no brainer. HOWEVVVVER..the return from Key West went To Miami with a 2 hr layover, To Dallas with a 3.5 hr layover, and then on to DC.I'm not a global warming zealot, but C'mon!!!
Or, how about DC to LA to Mexico...then Mexico to Seattle to LA to DC?
Plus, out of the DC area TO Alaska, there are no longer 1st class upgrades. Not since 2004 when I did it 3 times.
And...one almost always has to spend a night in Seattle or L.A.
But hey, that's just me.

Most attractive feature: The best feature of this card is ancient history.
Least attractive feature: Unless you live in Alaska, you (I) don't need this card nor the Annual Fee.

"BOA problems - again"
Attempts to access the BOA website to download the latest bill was not successful. I called their telephone number, went through the phone-tree, waited on hold and finally reaching a human to learn that the system is down for maintenance. I suggested that they could have posted that on the we site instead of having customers call them. Their response was they couldn't do that... It appears to me that once again BOA thinks my time, and therefor, I don't count.

while the $50 companion fare isn''t a gimmick, it''s $50 EACH WAY (plus taxes, etc.)... not for a round trip like it leads you to believe.

"Companion fare...you may not get it"
I had an issue with the companion fare. Signed up for the card because of air miles and the companion fare. Then got my companion fare and bonus letter...well a month later got another letter stating I dont get a companion fare and it was for premium cardholders. Alaska blamed it on bank of America going as so far as to refuse to give me contact information for Bank of americas dept that handles this. When I told BOA that I was a premium cardholder with others and that BOA had refused to raise my credit limit above $500 for excellent credit number that I have they just ran my credit again without my permission. Also, Alaska stated BOA didnt have email. Turns out, it is on alaska and I demanded they honor the certificate they issued me. I am still going round and round on this.
