"Been Lucky So far"
In reading this list of nightmares, it appears that we are part of a few lucky people. Yes, the website doesn't work and their CS needs a lot of help. However, this account has helped raise our credit rating. Since we make limited purchases on this card, we can make the payments in full and make them prior to the due date. So far, so good.
But I wouldn't recommend this company to our worst neighbor.

"My mistake"
We were foolish to apply for this card. It was a weak moment on our behalf. However ... word to the wise, stay away from this company and their "card".

The web site is horrible and makes you wonder if they are trying to hide something in the beginning.

Customer service? What they are calling customer service doesn't even begin to look like it. #1 the people don't speak English and if you ask them a question that is not on their script ... forget it. I had one person hang up on me because I asked a question she couldn't answer.

I cut this card in half and threw it away. Called the company and cancelled the card. I've tried to follow up to see if they indeed cancelled the card, it had a zero balance, or if they had put some charge on it.

If I find there is a charge on the card or I have any issues with them ... I will contact the BBB.

A class action suit should be filed against these creeps.

"This company would make the mafia blush..."
In short, the company is designed for one thing. to profit by fee collection. they have a VERY aggressive debt collection service in their employ. they look for marginal customers and make any effort to pay on time difficult. marginal customers are often unable or unlikely to send or register complaints so it makes for an easy customer base to exploit. credit card payments will usually take up to three weeks to process during which time, the payment is usually late. to expediate this, often the statements sent out are due within ten days so that it is impossible to avoid a late charge. what is interesting is that they do recieve payments within a few days as I have sent payments out requiring proof of reciept, so it is a fact that they hold payments. I would recommend anyone to who uses them to send out payments by registered mail and keep copies of it and any checks paid out to them to file a complaint with the attorney general of your state. enough people do this and send complaints, then the more likely something will be done.

"Just pray nothing goes wrong"
I have had this card for 3 or 4 years, always pay on time, and in full.

Last month they cashed my payment check, and didn't post it to my account. It took me over 45 minutes to get to a customer service representative in India, who spoke English well as long as she was reading from her script, but simply had no clue about what she was doing.

After patiently explaining three times that the check had already cleared my checking account, and I don't care that their records show that I never sent a payment, I calmly demanded to speak with a supervisor, in the _USA_. They actually had the audacity to tell me that they had no way to contact anyone in the US.

I then leaned on an old trick, and asked for her name and company identification number. I then told her that I had noted that information, and would include it in my letter to the state banking commissioner if I wasn't connected with a supervisor in the USA in 60 seconds.

Less than 15 seconds later a woman with a southern accent picked up, understood completely what my problem was, asked me to fax the check, and assured me that I would receive credit for the late fee, the interest, and, of course, my payment.

Three guesses... I got the payment credited, but not the late fee nor the interest.

Another call, again to India, 15 minutes on hold, "I am sorry sir, I can't access that screen, please call back tomorrow".

Next day, another call, another _20_ minutes, and I get the credit. I now ask them to close the account, and refund my small credit balance (I made an interim minimum payment while the whole thing was being sorted out, to protect my credit rating). Would you believe that he said I would have to call back the next day to request the credit, as the adjustment he just made won't appear on the account until then, and he can't request a refund until it appears on the account.

Last day... another 10 minute hold.... a long plea for me to keep the account open (fat chance), and my check is (supposedly) on the way.

If you want to participate in the same level of grief, by all means, get yourself an Aspire card!

PS - Tip - the fastest way to get to a live person is use menu "report your card lost or stolen" then press 3.

"HORROBLE HOBILIS"
THIS COMPANY SHOULD BE REPORTED FOR FRAUDULENT BUSINESS PRACTICE, AFTER BEING CHARGED $150.00 FOR ANNUAL FEE THAT DID IT. PLEASE DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE !!!

"Look at Orchard Bank or Plains Commerce Bank FIRST before you apply"
I have had my Aspire card for 1 year. BE CAREFUL and send in your payments as soon as your statement comes in! Charge your cell phone, car insurance and AOL service, etc on it monthly and pay it off in full. Interest RAPE% is VERY HIGH. Don't bother talking to a live customer service rep if you call because they don't want to talk to you and they can't speak fuc*ing english! If you have a load of money to spend to rebuild your credit, then go ahead and apply. Im gonna keep mine 1 more year and switch to a lower interest, better card. They did help raise my score to 640 from a 520, though, after ass raping me doggy arf arf sytle.
 
Most attractive feature: Reports ontime payments to all 3 credit bureaus, cardholder programs, credit increases
Least attractive feature: reaching live customer service is difficult and reps are rude!

AVOID this card and this company!
The rate is horrible.
The website has almost no info.
The customer service is non exsistant
NO ONE IN THE COMPANY SPEAKS GOOD ENGLISH.

"Providian sell out to Aspire"
I have read these comments and have also had the same problems. Besides not being able to access my account online to make payments I have yet to EVER receive a statement or any discloser notice which I know for a fact is required by law. We live overseas and it has been a nightmare. My repaired credit is now in shambles again due to this company. I strongly urge everyone who reads this to contact the FTC (Federal Trade Commision) in DC and urge them to investigate this company. If the FTC receives enough complaints they will. I will include this site in my complaint to them. What Aspire is doing is wrong and they need to be stopped. It is my belief that this company is structured to force accounts to accumulate fees through customers inability to contact or access their accounts for payment purposes. In short, they are scam artists abusing the system.

"Closed Account"
I had a Providian Visa card, that I was using ti repair my damaged credit. I paid it faithfully every month, never late, never over the limit. Well, Providian sold my account to Aspire, who promptly closed the account. This is ridiculous. I will never use Providian or Aspire again, and suggest you do the same!

"Stay away from Aspire"
Like many before me, my Providian account was sold to Aspire without warning and despite good credit standing. I contacted Aspire by phone to verify this transaction and to get an an explanation of the $75 "periodic finance charge" assessed to my account. The Aspire rep did confirm Providian had sold me out, but then stated she would not answer any further questions about my account until I made a $200 payment. I could go on with stories of this ongoing nightmare that is my relationship with Aspire, but I will save you all time and just say do not do business with this company.
