this card absolutely sucks

I cannot believe the run arounds I got with this card. No one can answer questions efficiently. This company is very difficult to contact.

if you are looking to get ahold of ASSociates call this # it is toll free, 1-800-357-9978 instead of the one on the card that is in texas.

Associates Visa by Citibank

After 13 years of on time payments, my Dec payment got lost in the mail. It was due on the 19th. Not showing if cleared my bank I call them on the 29th of Dec. Then paid by phone check on that day. On Jan 4th I was golfing with a client- tried to use my Associates card and it was dienied. I called the 800 number and was told my account was in collection for non-payment. Nothing was noted about my payment. I have a confirmation number given by Associates, the phone check cleared my account on Jan 3. All this after 13 years. Not a company I will do business with. Card paid in full. Thier are to many card company's out thier.

Associates Card telemarketers

I am heartily sick of the barrage of telemarketers calling. Their pitch starts out with something like "This offer is being made because you are a valued Associates cardholder..." There are so many of them I'm going to cancel the card in spite of the fact I have had no problem with it over the years.

This is the worst card that I had ever had. They change owner so many time I don't know where to send my bill then they send my money back and tell me that I need to pay the whole time adding interest and other fees. I HATE THIS COMPANY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

WORST CARD EVER

THEY CLAIM THEY MAIL THE BILL OUT IN ENOUGH TIME FOR YOU MAIL IT BACK TO THEM. WELL, IF YOU HAPPEN TO NOT HAVE THE MONEY AND SUPERMAN POWER TO SEND IT IN IN A WEEKS TIME FROM THE TIME YOU RECEIVE IT YOU GET CHARGED OUTRAGEOUS LATE FEES NOT TO MENTION SENT TO A CREDIT AGENCY AFTER BEING LATE A FEW TIMES ONLY BECAUSE YOU NEVER GET THE BILL ON TIME TO SEND IT BACK THAT VERY SAME DAY OR THE NEXT WITH A CHECK. THEY DON'T HAVE A WEBSITE EITHER. I AM CONVINCED THEY ARE NOTHING BUT SCAM ARTISTS. I NEVER GET MY BILL IN ENOUGH TIME TO MAIL THE PAYMENT BACK BY THE DUE DATE. OR AT LEAST THEY CLAIM THEY DON'T RECEIVE IT 2-10 DAYS AFTER I MAIL IT.

Don't bother with this card.

I got a card thru them and they started attaching late fees when I would send the payments in 2 to 3 weeks early. Then when you try to contact someone you stay on the line for an hour for no one to pick up. On top of that they don&#'t have a toll free number. I think this card is a joke.

ASSOCIATES SOLD OUT

When associates sold out to Citibank they raised my interest! I had paid several times each month to get balances down and associates lowered my interest from 19% to 11%. When Citibank bought them out they sent me a notice that they would raise interest to 27.99% if I ever missed one payment. I refused to accept the new terms and Citibank said I closed the account. I wrote Citibank a letter telling them their customer service stinks.New rate= 4%. No apology, so I dumped them anyway.

NEW CARD WITH DIFFERENT NUMBER!

I ORDERED TICKETS FOR MY SON TO AN EVENT. THE TICKETS ARE LOST IN THE MAIL. THEY WILL HOLD THEM FOR HIM-ALL HE HAS TO DO IS COME WITH THE CREDIT CARD THAT THE TICKETS WERE PURCHASED WITH UNABLE TO DO THIS. WE DESTROYED THE CARD WHEN WE RECEIVED THE NEW ONE. THE TICKETS COST US $378.00 BUT OUR SON WILL NOT BE ABLE TO ATTEND AND WE WILL HAVE TO PAY FOR THEM. ALL BECAUSE THE ASSOCIATES BANK GAVE US A NEW CREDIT LINE WITH A NEW CREDIT CARD NUMBER. HAS ANYONE EVER HEARD OF THIS? I HAVEN'T.

ASSC. WAS MY 1ST EVER VISA CARD. THEY STARTED ME OUT AT 1,000. I PAY MY BILL IN FULL EVERY MONTH SO I NEVER HAVE FINANCE CHARGES. I'VE HAD MY CARD FOR 1 YEAR AND MY LIMIT IS ALREADY 3,500. THEY ALSO LOWERD MY APR FROM 23% TO 17%. THEY ARE COOL.. I HAVE A ASSC. VISA CARD.

not the best card to have

i have had this card for awhile and every six months they increase my limit without me even calling. the bad thing i experienced is their insurance. i was under the impression if you are unemployed they will pay your min payment. i got laid off and since then i have to call them weekly to see how much they are paying.sometimes they only pay a few dollars but never my min payment and never before the due date. i have had to make my own payments to avoid late fees. i dont think that is right because they are still billing me for that insurance.

Double Dip

I recieved my bill in the mail from Associates on April the 12th. The bill stated my payment was due by the 4th of April. I assumed it was a typo. I have had the card for years. I called customer service and was told that normal people pay on time and wouldn't wait for the bill to come in the mail. I explained, normal people are sent the bill 30 days before it is due. I was told to check with the post office. Looking at the envelope, I realized the bill was in prepaid envelope. What this means is, I have no way of proving when I recieved the bill. The customer service representive said I should know better. She is correct. Now I am paying this card off all at once and investigating my protection from credit card fraud. 18% interest is enough without a built in late charge from the day I get the bill. Beware, these people are crooked but they are not stupid.

GOT TO GET OUT!!!!!

AFTER SEVERAL MONTH'S OF FAITHFULLY PAYING I HAVE DECIDED THAT IT MAY BE IN MY BEST INTEREST TO CANCEL THIS ACCOUNT. MAYBE THAT WAY I CAN FINALLY GET IT PAID OFF,RIGHT? WHEN I APPROACHED THE REP WITH THIS IDEA SHE TOLD ME THAT MY INTEREST WOULD BE HIGHER IF I WAS TO CANCEL THE CARD AND THAT THEY WOULD HAVE NO CONTROL OVER IT. I REPLIED THAT SHE SHOULD REALLY TRANSFER ME TO THE CANCELLATION DEPT. SHE PUT ME ON HOLD AND THEN HUNG UP! THIS CARD SUCKS! WHY AREN'T THESE COMPANIES DENIED THE PRIVELIDGE TO OFFER THE CARDS!

I've had this card for awhile now, and suddenly, I received mail from Amoco thanking me for being a customer, and additionally offering to raise my rates! I never requested an Amoco card, so this seems strange. But the letter is signed by the President of Associates National Bank, Steven R. Gades! And I can't find out what is going on because it is too hard to get ahold of a customer service agent. First they are only open during business hours. And during business hours they are closed for bad weather! I would avoid Associates, because obviously they do not protect nor serve their customers properly.

Not only do I keep having telemarketers calling me on behalf of the associates, glad to sell me something on my credit card, but I was late on one payment by 5 days, and they upped my interest 12%. I'd never had a late payment before. I would not recomend this card to anyone who wasn't always punctual.

After over 10 years of loyal, on time over the minimun in payments, and an A+ credit rating, they jsut decide to cancel you, claiming your debt to income ratio is too high. However they base it on your original application, as in my case over 10 years old. My income has more than tripled. After verbal confrontation, they are willing to see my new tax return. FORGET IT. They cancelled me, 4 months ago without even a notice. They do not deserve loyal customers like myself,and at 25.99%. There are too many other credit cards on the market with so much more to offer, and interest rates of at least 50% less. Associates has NO promo's, no miles, no nothing!!
