| "HORRIBLE CUSTOMER TREATMENT" |
| I had a BR Luxe card for 5 years and missed 1 payment and received a $35 fine and well over 25 phone calls in less then 1 month harassing me for payment (which had already been set up for the next month). I agreed to the fine when I signed up for the card, I did not agree to be harassed in my own home like I was a habitually delinquent deadbeat. I will never do business with them again - they treat good customers horribly! STAY AWAY! |

| "Quit whining!" |
I stumbled on the review site, and maybe I'm not the one to be on here. First, I pay off all my credit cards at the end of the month and use one of four different cards during the year, depending on which if offering a special of some kind. I do not carry debt, but charge most all of my expenses for points, which really pays off.
The BR card just sent my a 5X points offer for November and December. This is a really great deal, trust me. I'll get 100 worth of free clothes of it for sure.
If you have debt or spending problem. Maybe this isn't the card for you. Certainly, no one likes debt collectors bugging them. So, pay your bills people. It seems like all the complaints stem from being behind or late on payments. Yes, the credit card companies spank you big time if you're naughty. We can be their slaves for sure...so don't be.
I pay my bill online through my bank, never had a problem once. I simply don't understand why ANYONE would drive to BR to pay their bill in person.

| "Do not open a Banana Republic card, learn from others' mistakes" |
I admit, I have more store cards than I need. This one, however, is the worst, and I regret ever signing up for it. Please do not sign up for it, it's not worth the little money you save.
For instance, I used this card for about a year, then I stopped. I had paid every single payment on time. Suddenly (over a year since my last use), I get a phone call from COLLECTIONS that I owed over $200. WOW! Now, I personally never made those charges. Even if it was stolen and used, don't you think I would have gotten a statement at least SOMETIME before it went into collections? LOL
When they found out in conversation that I moved, they used that excuse repeatedly as to why I never once received a statement leading to the $200. Funny, because I had been at that address a good NINE MONTHS between their allegations and the time I moved, and every other piece of mail had been successfully forwarded to me.
Now I am wasting time, money and energy because of the dishonesty associated with this card.
From experience, save yourself the trouble and find another card. Banana Republic has NOTHING special to offer. Find another store with similar (or better!) clothes. |

| "DO NOT SIGN UP FOR THIS CREDIT CARD." |
I signed up for the credit car because the disccounts they offered me.
One week later I tried to pay off the account in a Banana Republic store. The attendat told me my account wasn't in the system and I had to wait for the bill on the mail. I never received the bill, I went online and mail the payment. 6 months later I recieved a phone call from a collection agency saying that I had unpaid balance. |

| "DO NOT GET THIS CARD" |
What a disaster! First, I was TRICKED into getting this card to begin with. The lady at the register saw I was buying a huge pile of clothes, and she asked if I would like to apply for a "discount member card." I asked her if it was a credit card, and she said "no." Two weeks later, what comes in the mail? A credit card! Oh well, I thought, at least I got $200 off my purchase.
Then...I moved. GOOD luck trying to do anything as simple as an address change online! *or* switching from paper statements to paperless statements. *or* subsequently calling their helpline afterward and getting a human on the phone.
I''m only keeping this dog in my wallet because I don''t want to damage my credit. I will use it once *or* twice a year and never raise the limit *or* use it for any real transactions. |

| "My limit was reduced for no reason" |
Back in November I received a letter from Banana stating that due to a recent credit check they would be lowering my limit on my card. This was right after they raised my limit because I have always paid my bills on time (always in advance!) and never have had a late payment. Due to this letter I was scared someone had stolen my information and put a mar on my credit.
After checking my credit and seeing everything was fine and that I had clean credit (never a late payment!) I was calmed a little. However, I was upset that I had to pay to pull my detailed credit due to Banana Republic. I tried contacting Banana Republic by phone and it was busy so I sent an e-mail. They responded with a generic e-mail that did not even address my complaints!
I have always been a loyal customer to Banana Republic since I am petite and they fit so well but I will never shop there again! I believe in brand loyalty and Banana has lost me for life. They limited my card so much it made it look like I maxed it out! Needless to say this card will be closed. Don''t shop at Banana Republic! |

| "CANCEL YOUR CARD BEFORE IT''S TOO LATE." |
| I haven''t used their card in over a year and a half and the last time I used it, I only bought 2 tank tops. I just received a letter from a collection agency telling me that I owe them $270. I think I have used this card 3 times at the most and never even totalled $270 in total. Their clothes are ridiculously expensive to begin with. Now it''s up to me to clear my name of this dept. I have perfect credit and this crap is going to haunt me. Everybody, cancel your cards before they try and scam you. |

| "WORST CREDIT CARD EXPERIENCE EVER" |
| Online Payments never worked. My last name was wrongly written on the card and they never corrected it. Online costumer support never replied. Paper statements were ALWAYS late and after I paid the bill in full by check they again sent a very late (just before closing!) bill for an additional charge for being late with the last payment. Phone service was not much better, their automated system failed to find my account number in several occasions and would drop my call in the step were it was supposed to transfer to a rep. The call quality was horrible and it was extremely hard to understand the rep. On top of everything I had to pay $10 fee for paying over the phone. |

| "Sorely Disappointed" |
In 2006, I applied for the BR credit card because I wanted to get 10% off of my store purchase. When I got the card, they told me each dollar I spent w/ the card would earn me a point; for every certain number of points, I would get a $10 gift card. They also said that if I spent $800 in one calendar year, I would be upgraded to Luxe membership. Unfortunately, I did not meet the $800 requirement in '06, so I made it a goal to do so in '07. In November, 2007, I realized I had spent $800 so I called customer service and confirm and ask when my new card would be mailed. The lady confirmed that I had met Luxe status, and that would my card would be mailed in January '08. in Feb '08, when I still hadn't received my card, I called customer service again to inquire. The lady sent that they are running behind on upgrading members to Luxe and I would receive my welcome package in March or April. She also told me that in September, 07, BR made a new rule and got ride of Luxe for Life. Basically that means I will have to keep spending $800 each year to maintain Luxe status. No one ever told me that they made this rule. I would never have bothered to spend so much money if it wasn't for life. I did tell the customer service lady and as a one time courtesy fee, she credited my account $20. Whoop de doo.
I'm disappointed in the BR card. Juding from the reviews on this site, I can see others are too |
