"Unprofessional, do not get this card"
With this card if you don't use it every month they "sometimes forget to send you a bill". Then the late fees start piling on. I got a call when it was almost 2 months past due and they said I had $60 in late fees. They offered to take off one of the late fees of $25 if I paid by phone. I would just have to pay $15 for paying by phone! Really? I said this was unacceptable since they were the ones who forgot to send me the bill. They waived the $15 processing fee but said I would have to call customer service if I wanted the rest of the late charges reversed. I called customer service and explained how I never got my bills but got charged late fees. They said "Oh, it happens". If you don't use your card every month they sometimes forget to send a bill. Seriously? This is the most unprofessional credit card company I have ever dealt with. Once I called customer service the late fees were easily reversed but it seems like this forgetting to send a bill is common for them. Stay away from this card, it isn't worth the hassle.

Least attractive feature: They forget to send a bill if you don't use your card every month.

"Benefits are not worth the card"
I opened a Banana Republic card two years ago, and the discounts I received from using the card were good. The interest rate is disgusting, but I don't leave a balance ever so it didn't matter. What attracted me to this card were the $10 rewards for every 1000 pts. However, over time, the $10 reward is not worth it anymore. I always read the fine print and here are the problems: 1) the reward makes you spend more than the reward value or you can't use it. 2) No other discounts can be used with it because it deductions the amount from the items before the discounts. 3) If you have to return the item and want to exchange it, you can't. You have to wait two billing statements to get that credit back. 4)The reward is deducted across items ($1.50 off a tee, $3.00 off shorts, $5.50 of shoes), so if you return one item you only get a portion credit back to your card in the point format ($5.50 becomes only $5). 5) Any other promotions such as B2G1 free, don't apply when you use the $10 reward. You can't get ANYTHING free it you use the reward.

Lastly, making payments are a joke. They don't accept payments at the store almost forcing you to pay online or else risk getting a late fee. Online payments are limited to ONLY 2 a month. You can't make payments as you go like with other cars. They restrict you and don't tell you anywhere! Stay away until they change their policies.
 
Most attractive feature: Extra discounts for using the card on certain days.
Least attractive feature: $10 "rewards" have too many limitations and cannot be used with ANY discounts.

"no complaints"
I never carry a balance on any of my credit cards, so I can't speak to finance charges, etc. This is a great card for the rewards & discounts.
One month I misplaced a bill & missed the payment by 4 days. I called & asked them to remove the late fee since I had never missed a payment before, and they did so without any argument. I was very pleased.
The website isn't so great, and I'm disappointed that they don't have online or email customer service. However, I've only called customer service that one time. For that one late payment I did manage to figure out how to pay on BR's website since the payment would be credited to my account immediately... but it wasn't easy to figure out.
Normally I pay the bill through my bank's online billpay, so no complaints there either.
I enjoy the rewards.

"BR Card"
I've read a few post regarding this card and I've never had some of the problems you guys are having. Sounds like you guys are just not paying your bill on time. I will admit, the first couple of days trying to set up my account on BR site was a bit painful, but after that, i've never had a problem with this card or website. I receive emails on discounts just about every day. I was able to set up my banking information on BR website and do automatic transaction. But the quickest way to pay is just setting up Bill Pay on your checking account. I paid my bill from Saturday on Wednesday and the bill is at $0....I've had this card for a few months and the only time I use it when there's hefty discounts(30-50% off). Other than that, its not used. Customer service really sucks though. They need to improve this.

"Worst credit card ever"
I found out the hard way about this card. I enrolled in paperless statement for this card. Like most credit cards, I was under the assumption that I will get an email notification that our statement is available to view online. NOPE < not this one, never got any notice. AND i pay all my debts on time. Never got one paper statement and couldn't log in online. So i looked at my receipts and mailed in the payments to address according on their website and call it a day. Three months later, since I have not used the card, I checked my credit score, and found out that it's been lowered because BR reported that I had a bad debt. $8.95. That's a finance charge incurred on my account because they got $225.0 payment one day late. It has been sitting there, I've never received a phone call nor communication that I have this debt... OMG. nightmare trying to fix this issue... BEWARE.

"You'll Have to Wait Until It's Overdue."
My girlfriend's parents got me a $25 gift card to BR, a store I never shop at. But I got there, and they selection was very nice, though expensive. When I got to the counter, the worker asked if I wanted to open a card, a tactic I use at a lot of stores I only go to once. Get the additional percent off, go home and pay it off, then cancel the card. Except when I tried to pay it off, the site didn't accept my account number. So I called customer service, got a twenty minute run around before finally being connected to an actual live person. First, let's try the account number again. Hmm, nope, that must have been a temporary one they gave you, and it's already expired. Two days after the purchase. Let's try your phone number. Hmm, nope, that's not even close to what we have here. How about your SSN.

BR: Okay, that worked, FINALLY. So, how can I help you?

Me: I want to pay my bill online, but it says I can only give my checking account and routing numbers, but I want to use my debit card.

BR: Well, you can only use your DC if your account is over due.

Me: That's stupid, why could you only use it if it's overdue?

BR: You can make a payment to me over the phone with your DC, but there's a $15 fee.

Me: Okay, thanks, bye!

Don't get this card. I still have yet to receive any mail from them, card included. With the non-expired account number.

"The worst card I've ever had to deal with"
The most difficult customer service I have ever had to deal with. I have had to call back 5 times because 3 of those times their line disconnects (after already waiting 17 minutes)and the other two times they connect me to the wrong person. They still haven't been able to figure out how to mail my card for over 4 months and the last time I called to see if they had sent my card since I still hadn't received it, they accidentally closed my account. I have talked to 5 different people and all of them are completely worthless.
 
Most attractive feature: The most worthless card ever.
Least attractive feature: Worthless customer service. Impossible to redeem earned rewards.

"CARD STINKS"
A cardholder needs a login ID/ a mamber ID, a couple of passwords and it is very hard to navigate to find the "make payment" section, which is way down at the bottom of the page. It's a pain.

I specifically asked for paperless statements for environmental/security reasons -- my mailbox is available for anyone to take out what they want.
I got my discount coupon in the mail, along with the statement with my credit card # on it. The customer service person said, sorry, we mail those discounts out with a statement. Oh great, well, I put everything ont he BR card which means every month I will be getting a statment after all, as he said they cannot do anything about it. That is a load of bunk -- I used to have a Target Visa credit card too and the reward card (10% off an entire day) arrived all on its own.

For those of you tempted to cancel the card -- don't. It lowers your FICO score. Just cut it up and let BR close it due to inactivity (although I have a Gap card from about 12 years ago I used ONCE and that's still open).

Also, to the lady that said she was offered a discount card when she bought a boatload of stuff and was told the discount card was not a credit card: I am not sure how BR could have signed you up for a credit card without your giving them your SSN -- did you? Never give out your SSN unless you are actually are trying to get approved for credit!

"HORRIBLE CUSTOMER TREATMENT"
I had a BR Luxe card for 5 years and missed 1 payment and received a $35 fine and well over 25 phone calls in less then 1 month harassing me for payment (which had already been set up for the next month). I agreed to the fine when I signed up for the card, I did not agree to be harassed in my own home like I was a habitually delinquent deadbeat. I will never do business with them again - they treat good customers horribly! STAY AWAY!
