"THUMBS DOWN-BNY VISA GOLD CARD ISSUED BY CHASE"
Ihave a BNY Visa Gold card issued by Chase which I obtained in 1994. The rate is supposed to adjust to the prime rate which is currently at its lowest rate since 1958, hovering around 4%. Somehow despite a good payment history, Chase has incrementally raised my interest rate to over 27%. They said they inserted notices my statements which I had to respond toby a certain date or my rate would increase. Of course, if I had read these notices I would have objected, but I never realized they were there, since they were not on my statement. Anyway, in NY assessing an interest rate greater than 25% on a credit card is against the law, but the apparently the buzzards at Chase use these hidden notifications to get around this. Please everyone, read everything in your credit card envelope because you could also become a victim of these vultures. I wonder how much interest they are giving on their savings accounts. Probably about 1%.
 
Most attractive feature: EASY WAY TO GET $$ AT A HIGH PRICE
Least attractive feature: DEVIOUS INCREASES IN INTEREST RATES FOR NO REASON
