| "good card" |
I agree with the other poster. This is a cool card, especially if you travel. It's a simple, straightforward redemption system and there are no black out dates or other restrictions to deal with. The 1.3 percent back is a solid deal, defintely more rewarding than many cards out there.
The flexibility of the card can't be debated. You get to book when YOU want, and then reedeem the points. No worrying about dates, blackouts, seat availablity, etc. It's all up to you.
Personally, I hope more companies go towards this general points system rather than linking rewards to specific airlines, hotels, etc. |

| "Fantastic travel rewards" |
AmEx awards you $100 for every 7500 points you accumulate. 1 point is earned for each $1 spent. Rewards are redeemable towards any travel-related purchase (airline, hotel, rental car, etc.) made on the card. This means you are effectively earning 1.33% cash back on ALL purchases, right away.
Some cards offer special 5% cash back rates on groceries and gas, but only 1% on everything else. Other cards allow you to earn up to 1.5% cash back, but you have to work your way through several tiers of spending to get to that rewards level (usually the threshold for 1.5% cash back is $6500 spent). Blue Sky gives you a FANTASTIC rewards rate, right away - no other card can say this. Yes, cash rewards are ONLY redeemable on travel purchases, but if you travel, this is the card for you. You aren't locked into a certain airline or hotel chain, but instead are free to shop around for the best rates.
I'm very happy with this card and will be holding on to it for life! |
