I don't know when they changed to up to 1%.very bad company, never respect customer.they charge 20 dollars if you go over limit.I called them and ask if they can stop the transition if over limit.they answer NO,and ask me to call them to check balance everytime I use this card. "The worst bank ever is here"
Believe me this bank was made to steal people's money and treat people like pigs. I was a customer for 4 years. After a very good history payment, I had a difficulty to pay for 2 months. They closed my account and charged me 1000. They called me and the stupid women was shouting and we started to fight. Man it is just stupid to have an account with them. I complained to her supervisor and he did nothing. They don't have any respect to their customers. So, keep yourself away from this bank

"a good card for starters"
This is a plain and simple card. Its terms are simple. There is no telemarketing calls and hassels. It doesn't raise your credit limit unless you ask. When your purchase exceeds the limit, it will be declined rather let it through and impose an over limit charge. The settlement of dispute is simple and fast. One time, I used this card in a restaurant and the charges got boubled. I called the card service and they resolved it right away. So I think this is a good card for starters.

"no-charge Visa card from CIBC Bank in Canada with dividends on purchase"
I have this card for more than 2 years. I went to Europe and was accepted without problem everywhere for any amount. I spent 6 months on the Gulf coast of Mississippi this past winter and a security features amazed me. After 6 days on the road with our big RV, we stopped in a campground where they were asked by the bank to check for my identity, since trip was out of my habits. With my passport and driving licence, everything was fixed right away and there were told of our intentions of being out of Canada for about 6 months. After this, the computer accepted all my transactions. On my first account in January 2001, I had a 3 digit credit in cash deposited in my account as a dividend by the the bank, computed on a accrued percentage of all my purchases made during the year. I had the same the year before, and expecting about the same next January. The card has no annual fee whatsoever, but the interest rate is around 18 to 20% on unpaid balance. This is of no concern for me, since I always pay the total each month, which is done either by phone, or generally by a computer cash transfer by internet.
This card is the best one I ever had.

Most attractive feature: Increasing Percentage of buying account with a cash credit at end of year
Least attractive feature: none so far
