| "Be aware, be very aware" |
I responded to their 12 month 0% APR offer and got a letter saying I was accepted. A few months later they started charging me 22% interest, even though I was making all minimum payments in time. I call, only to learn that they actually accepted me under an alternate offer for just 3 months 0% APR, but didn't bother to inform me! They said they didn't have to inform me and it was my responsibility to call them and ask!
Textbook example of the infamous bait-and-switch! |

| "Great card, slow rewards" |
I got this card 2 years ago and it has been great. I recieved an initial credit line which was 2.5 times that of the Capital One student Visa I had at the time. The APR was 11.4% and I was getting cash back. I have disputed charges twice since I have had it and found customer service very helpful and respectful and best of all...THEY SPEAK ENGLISH!! Nationaly City has yet to outsource their call center which I consider a huge benefit.
Another great feature is that with their Elite cards all APR's are the same: i.e. Purchases, balance transfers, etc. I found out recently that they had a new Everyday rewards card that offered higher cash back rates on some purchases so I called and had my Cashbuilder account switched over. They changed my APR from fixed 9.9 to a variable 10.24% which is a bummer but it's a non-issue if you always pay it off which you should with a rewards card. One of the only downfalls to this card is that at .5% and 1% cash back your buildup is very slow. Hopefully with the everyday Rewards it will build a little faster because it offers higher percentages back on some purchases such as restaurants, movies etc that I've never seen offered anywhere else. The only better cash card I've seen (and own) is the Citi Dividend card which offers 5% on some purchases. The high cash back rate is on different items, however, than the everyday rewards so the combination should be pretty good. The only real draw back to the Cashbuilder card is that they never seem to increase your credit line unless you ask. The only time I ever received an increase was when I called and asked for one when I had a lot of expenditures. Most banks will automatically raise your limit at least once a year. You may or may not look at this as a draw back to a credit card. Overall a great card, with great customer service and I absolutely recommend it. |

| "Great card for everyday purchases!!!!!" |
| This card gives you 4% back on all gas purchases, 3% back on utilities, pay TV (cable or satellite) services, 2% back at restaurants and grocery stores, 1% back at home improvement stores and 1/2% back on everything else. It also has no annual fee and a fixed 9.9% rate on purchases and cash advances with no BT fees. I've had no problems with this card at all. The only drawback is that you have to wait till December to get the rebate credited to your account, other than that I think it's a pretty tough card to beat with regard to benefits and rates. |

| "my credit card" |
| I chose this card because my car is financed by National City. There is a number you can call if you have problems with the card. I do not use credit cards too often. |

| "Pretty good card" |
| This card offers a competitive promotional interest rate (2.9%), online payment options, and best of all, the Prime Rebates shopping program. You get rebates for using the card, although you have to spend over $40,000 a year to get the highest rebate, 2%. But, the Prime Rebates program gives you instant rebates for your purchases and includes hundreds of merchants, so if you are a frequent online shopper (and you really should be, since it's cheaper and easier than going to the mall), you'll realize instant savings. I also found customer service to be very helpful when I had questions on a statement, and they were willing to waive the late fee when the Postal Service screwed up. |

| "Easy way to earn free money" |
The CashBuilder Platinum card gives you
a bonus at the end of the year equal to
1% of total charges. While there are
other cash-back programs, this one has
no annual fee and is straight-forward.
Customer service is available most days
and their people treat you with respect.
APR is rather high, but if you pay in
full each month you don't worry about
that, do you? Our purchases this year
will earn us enough for our first DVD
player. Such a deal! |
