We and others we know have used Chase's Bell Atlantic VISA cards for a number of years and really appreciated the rewards program. We went out of our way to use the card for almost every purchase. We understand that the reward progrm will end some time in May. With the end of that program, we and others are moving our business to either Discover or American Express. We think Chase has made a big mistake.

I had a problem with a purchase, the merchant told me I got stuck. I called Chase and disputed the charge. Chase gave the merchant sixty days to respond, the merchant wouldn't answer Chase. Chase credited my account and told me the credit was final. Three months after Chase told me the credit was final they sent me a letter telling me the merchant responded to them.(five months after my purchase) I told chase I used the credit they gave me and sold the item, to cut my losses. Chase told me the credit is only good as long as I keep the defective product, once I dispose of it the credit is removed and the card holder is charged for the purchase. DON'T USE A CHASE CREDIT CARD

This company is in the process of settling lawsuits which challenged their method of applying payments. They have in my opinion consistantly delayed posting payments so they can charge interest and late fees. STAY AWAY FROM THESE SCUMBAGS!!
