If you travel allot on AA the bonus miles you get when first signing up for the card are excellent and makes it worth it to sign up for a year even with the fee. The AA miles earned while using the card 1 mile for every $1 are also a nice benefit for those who pay the full statement balance each month. For those who carry a balance, recommend you not even remotely consider this card as you can get a much lower interest rate card with no annual fee. With all the other great rewards credit cards out there I don't think this card is worth the $85 annual fee after the 1st year. I asked customer service if they would wave the fee this upcoming year and the answer was no, so when my renewal date comes up here shortly I will cancel and use the other rewards cards I have that are just as good and without an annual fee.
If you do get this card and like to pay you bill electronically be warned. The first time you make a payment electronically there is a limit (a couple hundred dollars if I remember correctly) that is the max citi will allow you to transfer online via their web-site. A couple weeks after your first electronic payment is posted there is no longer a limit as to how much you can pay electronically. So either pay early, plan to mail in a bill or use your card very sparingly the first month until after you get the electronic funds transfer through the first time with citi-bank or be ready to pay high interest rates the first month negating the benefit of earning your AA miles. |

| "Incompetent Application Process" |
| I mailed in an application in late June. I used the envelope and forms provided with my "invitation". By the first of August, I wondered where my card was and called customer service. They reported that they never received my application. Of course I have no proof that I mailed the application. I applied again by phone. I strongly supsect that their mega corporate office "lost" my application. This has set me six weeks behind which is frustrating when I had hoped to redeem the miles for an October trip. With no proof their is nothing that customer service can do. |

| "FRAUD PROTECTION" |
| jUST TO LET PEOPLE KNOW, IF YOU SEND MONEY THRU WESTERN UNION AND YOU DON'T RECEIVE THE GOODS YOU ARE NOT PROTECTED. yOU LOOSE AND YOU MUST PAY BACK THE MONEY. wE RECENTLY PURCHASED A RECEIVER ON E-bAY AND WAS INSTRUCTED TO SEND MONEY VIA WESTERN UNION SINCE THE PEOPLE WERE IN THE uk. THEY NEVER SHIPPED THE MERCHANDISE IT WAS A SCAM. we ARE NOW OUT $1557. We thought we were covered UNDER THE FRAUDLENT PROTECTION. Do not use your credit card for western union purchases. |

| "Stay away" |
| The only possitive is the airline miles and since I almost exclusivley fly AA - I figured it was a good idea.. Wrong - need to watch these guys closely - I am holding off saying what I really want to say so that I am not in violation here but stay away. If your credit is good I can not think of a reason to use this card other than the miles as there are much better options. Just my 0.02 cents. I must say the Customer Service people were always pleasant although I was never happy with their reasoning. CitiBank = Very big machine... |

| "AA card review" |
| After being a loyal cardholder for almost 5 years, we were spiraled into a customer service nightmare. Their errors continued on and off for 6 months. We called and asked them to explain to us why these errors had occurred. No acceptable answers were given, and it was clear they did not care about our business. |

| "AA Mastercard" |
| I used to be a rebate card user only (Discover), but a few years ago I switched to this Citibank AA mastercard. Since switching, I have found their customer service to be excellent. They never send those stupid balance transfer checks without permission and my only billing dispute was handled immediately and in my favor. The only potential problem is that it is an airline specific card, which, depending on your situation, might not be the best idea. For me it works just fine. One additional nice feature of the card is that there are a variety of ways to get bonus miles by purchasing from various selected merchants. While this isn't worth making special purchases for, it is a nice bonus when you would have bought from them anyway. Those few hundred miles over the course of a couple years really add up. |

| "A disaster" |
| I got this card and they immediately screwed up by giving me a new AAdvantage number even though I gave them my old one. Not fixed yet. Then they posted only 3000 bonus miles when the offer says 7500 bonus miles. Not fixed yet. The customer service guy told me they cant check their own website to see if the offer exists!!! |
