| "O.K. Credit Card" |
I got this card back in October of 2003, with a starting credit line of $1,500.00. I had experienced some ‘blemishes’ a few years ago due to a divorce, and was surprised to get accepted for this card.
I usually pay my balance in full every month, which I did during the December 2003 statement cycle. On my January statement, I noticed a “Reduction in credit line” message, advising that my line was reduced from $1,500.00 to $1,260.00. While I understand that banks regularly review their portfolios and reprice them accordingly, I was a bit irritated to see that I had the same (or better) credit status that I did when I got the card, and Household was already reducing the line.
Other than their odd line reduction policies, this card has been pretty good. It comes with 0% interest for the first 9 months, and offers a LOW balance transfer rate with free convenience checks when you open your account.
Good card, just weird credit practices. |
