Redeeming the miles and or companion certificate proved impossible on dates I wanted to fly. What is the point of a benefit if you can only use it at times that do not work for you? The only thing I can say is the customer service representatives were courteous when they said there was nothing they could do for me. Needless to say, I no longer have the Gold Delta Skymiles card.

The Gold Delta Sky Miles AmEx card is worthless, if not a source of expense. With this card, which is the Gold card business version, there is an annual fee of $95. If you use the card, there is a interest charge from the time of purchase (no 30 grace period). There is also a transaction fee for the purchase which is a % depending on the dollar value. If you use the card outside the US (and there a few place that do accept them, but not many) there is a foreign transaction fee as well (although this fee is common for most Credit cards). The locations that due accept Am Ex outside the US are going to limited to popular US based business (most Starbucks takes them around the world). The other issue with this card is the value of the Sky Miles. Delta Sky miles value has plummeted since the merger with Northwest airlines. They have combined the worst of both systems and made the value of the miles almost worthless. All of these extra-charges and expenses are not worth the few miles you get. In fact, on my last statement, I had over $200 in fees (none of the were late or past due) and only go 8000 miles. I need to triple that for a simple domestic flight or $600 in fees for a simple "limited" domestic flight. for $600 I can find many flight alternatives and keep that money in my pocket. Please read the details for Am Ex before getting and compare them to any other card. Unfortunately Delta is losing customers loyalty, and ruining there image by forcing there business and frequent fliers to look else ware for benefits. Other airline cards do not have these restrictions.

Skymiles have been devalued so much, that I see no point to this card. They do not offer "Pay with Miles" on flights operated by Skyteam carriers, yet have eliminated all Delta flights to Mexico City. And the normal awards flights are so convoluted and require so many miles, that they are also worthless.

i had the card for six years and racked up over 200000 miles,i finally canceled the card because when you contact delta and try to use the miles,you might as well not have them at all.so if you want a card where you just sit back and watch useless miles pile up go ahead and get it.

I initially got this card because of all the positive reviews on this web-site, and they are accurate. The customer service has always been excellent and it is very easy to get extra miles. My husband and I have had the card for a year and a half and we just got 2 tix from Atlanta to Portland, Oregon in August...not bad. BUT...we really had to finagle our dates to get this to work and we figured out that we had to fly from a Delta hub. If you are not flying hub to hub, you generally need twice as many miles per ticket. I'm talking, 50,000 miles instead of 25,000. Put this together with the fact that Delta might not be around much longer, and you might want to reconsider. Be sure to notice the dates of the previous reviews. I'm actually posting this review while I'm looking for a different rewards card.

I like detailed statements with phone numbers of retailers. Earning Delta Airlines Sky Miles is good.

I have had my SkyMiles Card for about 3 years and love. We have taken 3 free trips. Our last trip in May was from Florida to Hawaii. We went first class which is 60,000 miles per ticket. Paid $10.00 Security fee. They offer so many ways to get miles without flying anyone who is not using this card is.....well lets just say uninformed! The $135.00 annual fee seems high but consider that you get a free companion ticket every year when you renew! I am able to use my American Express Card almost everywhere. The places I can't I use my other miles/points cards. One bit of advice, When ever you use your card, write it in your check book and deduct it from your balance. That way when the bill comes due you just pay it and don't carry a balance. Our next trip is to South Lake Tahoe. Have fun traveling! CZ/Florida

I go to Europe quite often. My last trip I was in Russia. Everyone accepted visa and mastercard. Only 5% of the merchants accepted the card. In the whole citym of St. Petersburg, There was only 2 ATM that accepted AMEX. St. Petersburg is a very affluent city. Estonia, Latvia and Lithuanuia combined don't even have one ATM that accepts AMEX. These countries are each the size of Texas. Again Visa and Mastercard everywhere. When I found the AMEX Travel service I took 3 hours to get money from them. Amex had to wire the money western union. I am switching to Visa. I have been a member of AMEX since 1997 with great credit. The customer service I DIDN'T receive was the worst ever.

The American Express provides excellent customer care. The ski miles on Delta air lines is an excellent attraction too. The only negative aspect is the American Express credit cards are not accepted at some of the merchants, in particular non corporate small shops, like the Visa or Master cards.

I kept the card for 4 years and just this year, becuase of the paltry amount of flying I will be doing, changed to Delta's no fee A.E. card.

The card is accepted at all the locations that I have bough merchandise. I have gone over my limit, and there was no problem.

We have taken five round trips to Hawaii and never had a problem getting the dates we needed. Double and triple mile AMEX promotions coupled with Delta offers online help us accumulate rewards quickly. We love this card and use it whenever possible.If you fly Delta often, spend over $25,000 per year, and always pay in full (online or mail), this is one of the best products available and their Customer Service is excellent.

the card is good but the benefits and opportunities are a few! the company should also improve the reward rate as well as should increase its branches. it is mainly a good experience to have a skymiles.it tells that you are flying at cashy rate. thats all to say and i am a more satisfy than the other card i used to have (now it may be in a litter)!!!

Good benefits and service, many opportunities for double miles, but very high interest rates.

First of all, if you have any annual fee Amex like the personal or the gold, it's annual fee free! Amex doesn't point that out enough. Even if you get a higher level Skymiles card like the gold or platinum, Amex will cut off $55 off the annual fee for those. Anyway, always double miles at gas stations, supermarkets, wireless bills, etc. is awesome, and then add in occasional specials like triple miles on Delta charges like they had a month ago and it's a must have. Bottom line though, if you have an annual fee Amex and fly Delta and you don't get this, you are foolish as you get 5000 free miles just for getting it. Even if you have membership rewards, if you are a Skymiles member you should use this card at gas stations instead of Amex as you get the double miles on the Skymiles card, but only one MR point on the regular Amex. If you don't have an annual fee Amex, it's a great card compared to all the other airline cards because of the double mile deals. And the annual fee is comparable to any of those. On top of it all, Amex customer service is excellent.

The Delta Skymiles card is great. Miles can be accumulated for longer periods of time than most other frequent flier plans. You also receive double miles all the time at gas stations, grocery stores, the US Post office and at home improvement centers.

i received an offer from delta sky miles to do a balance transfer with a fixed rate of 6.9, i had a time-share with a rate if l7.99 so i transferred the balance. the best part is that it stays at that rate till it's payed off.

We recently signed up for this card, used it twice and almost immediately received a bonus of 10,000 miles into the Delta SkyMiles Account. Double Miles are always given at gas stations, hardware and grocery stores and the USPO. Their current promotion of double miles on all purchases has been extended 'til 12/15/01. Now if only Safeway in No. Calif would accept American Express!

I would definitely recommend this card. You get skymiles for every purchase, and for most everyday purchases (post office, gas stations, grocery stores, and of course Delta tickets) you get DOUBLE miles. You also get a large bonus (10000 skymiles) just for getting the card! The introductory APR is great, and the regular APR is competitive. The only drawback is the annual fee, which is rather high ($50 - $100 per year). However, I think that the skymiles that you earn easily makes up for the annual fee. Also, American Express is not accepted everywhere, but that problem has gotten better recently.

This card is great for those people thta like to travel but don't always have the extra money. Want to take a trip to London? This card allows holders to purchase everyday objects (food, gas, prescritptions) and get rewarded for doing so. By using hte card, members get 1 skymile for each dollar they spend,. and on certain objects, they get double the miles. HTere is no limit as to the amout of miles that can be accummulated over a year, and the miles have the same value as do regular skymiles from delta. This card allows holders to build up thier skymiles and take a trip they've always wanted. THe only down side to this card is the annual fee ($65) that must be paid. HOwever, this fee makes up for itself (plus you get skymiles for the fee) when you can travel to more expensive areas within the united states, as well as to countries abroad.

When approved for this credit card, there is a 3.9% Intro A.P.R. for the frst six months and, the A.P.R. is only 12.99% thereafter. In addition to having no annual fee, Delta SkyMiles can be earned as well when using the card.

Sign up this card and get up to 10000 bonus Delta miles and you always get double miles when you use this card at Gas Station, Post Office, and alot more places.

This is the card I would reccomend most to anyone, most especially travelers.The interest rate is competitive and even tho there is a yearly fee of $50.00 dollars for the card I find that it more or less pays for itself. You get an enormous amount of discounts on everything from traveling to shopping. They even have a website were you can find all the latest offers.I have saved a lot of money yearly but checking with the website before making any purchases.The best part of American Express is the customer service. I find them outstanding in comparrison to others.They stand behind you 100% and take action immediately. They have resolved many of my problems quickly and with minumum effort on my part.Its great to earn airmiles and easy to accumalte them. American Express Delta skymiles is one of the cards that work for me. I don't work for them.

I've used the Delta Skymiles Card for years, charge a lot on it, and have never carried a balance. First there was the insult of the $125 membership fee -- and now we're being hit with finance charges even when our payments are sent in, in full, days before the due date. I'm sick and tired of being hit with outrageous finance charges because of payments allegedly being received one day beyond the due date. Customer service claims you have to mail your payment ten business days before the due date to assure timely receipt?! And they only give a three week turn around from the end of statement period until the payment due date. I'm taking my business somewhere else. . .

For every person out there that enjoys flying to different places and uses a credit card on a regular basis...this card is perfect. There is an annual fee, but the miles recieed from the card covers the fee just fine. Its great that you get skymiles for ANY purchase, plus on everyday purchases, such as gas, and food stores, you get double the miles. I would highly recommand the card to anyone who would likea free vacation.

I have had this card for several years now, and I am quite pleased with it. Although there is a $55 annual fee, I feel that the benefit of earning frequent flier miles makes it worth the cost. For example, last year my family of six was able to fly from California to Florida at no cost to us. It took me about two and a half years to accrue enough miles to do this. So if you figure in the cost of the annual fee for a two and a half year period, those tickets actually cost us about $138. Not bad for six tickets across country! I must mention that I charge everything I possibly can on the card, and pay the complete balance monthly. If you carry a balance and pay finance charges, you've completely defeated the purpose of having the card in my opinion. One drawback is that AMEX is not accepted at some merchants.

I fly mostly in the southeast part of the US, so the Delta card works great for me. Having American Express behind this card made it even more attractive when I was looking for a credit card. The on-line features of American Express are not out done.

This card has already helped me a lot in earning a lot of Delta SkyMiles. In addition, it has no annual fee and a low APR. Customer service is convenient since it is 24 hours a day and 7 days a week.

Our biggest problem with the Delta Skymiles American Express Card is that in order to use the card to get the most miles you need a very high limit. Because our limit was on the low side $2000, we bumped against this limit on a monthly basis and even though we were paid in full for even the current month, we couldn't charge any more to the card until the next billing cycle.

All in all a good card. The double miles promotions are great. The APR is a little high, but the miles make up for it. Grace period is a little short, but you can check your account and pay online.

free flying has never been cheaper! (that is of course if you overlook the $50.00 yearly fee)

I would recommend amex to anyone. They have stood behind me many times. The cards that are free will not always do that.The perks are earning free airmiles.
