| "Go with someone else" |
| This is the classic bad credit card. These people promised a simple card to rebuild credit. With a $500 deposit, I was issued a card with about $380 credit limit. Every month it was something new. Either some rip off change they made, or some double fees or fines for this or that. Totally legal, unfotunately, but I felt very much that these people were not following the Fair Credit Act, if they were, they were on the line of misconduct. I cancelled the card and faced more fees. Go with another card. There is a reason they have such a low average rating. |

| "DON'T GET THIS CARD/ GO DISCOVER INSTEAD" |
| I WAS A CUSTOMER FOR OVER 10 YEAR'S. PAID OFF OVER $25,000 4 DIFFRENT TIMES. IN APRIL AFTER RECIVING A LUMP SOME I PAID OFF 22,000 IN CREDIT CARD DEBT, AKC CHASE,& DIRECT MERCHANT. I CALLED TO PAY OFF AND CANCEL MY CARDS. BOTH COMPANIES BEGGED ME TO HANG ON TO THEIR CREDIT CARDS (I WAS SUCH A VALUED CUSTOMER)PROMISING A 0% INTREST FOR 6 MONTHS THEN A LOW RATE OF 6.9 PERCENT. DARN IF I DIDN'T FALL FOR IT. NOW 7 MONTHS LATER I HAVE A 29.99% RATE. SO WHEN I CALLED TO COMPLAIN THEY TOLD ME THEY COULD DROP IT TO 27.99% THEN CALL EVERY 6 MONTHS TO GET IT DROPPED. I WOULD BORROW FROM THE MAFIA BEFORE I WOULD EVER USE THEIR CARD AGAIN. SO 1 PEICE OF ADVICE, GO DISCOVER CARD OR SAVE YOUR MONEY TILL YOU CAN AFFORD WHAT IT IS YOU WANT. BUT STAY AWAY FROM DIRECT MERCHANT BANK AND ANY CARD THATS OWNED BY CHASE... |

| "Rename them "Disgrace Merchants to Consumers"" |
| After having payments deferred through the pre-paid protection plan during my unemployment for a year, I was relatively pleased. Even though my unemployment benefits were extended for another 6 months, I could not renew the protection plan beyond the year -- no problem. However, there was a delay in receiving my benefit check which was my only source of income to resume my monthly payments to Disgrace Merchants, which caused my payment to be 2 days late. Not only did I receive an irreversible late fee, my rate went to the default rate of 29.99%. When I phoned "cuss to mer" service about the increased rate and explained my situation as well as previous on-time history, even speaking to the manager was to no avail. Livid, I told them to close the account. They obliged, but also warned that I would not be able to receive any future rate reductions once the account was closed. I insisted that it be closed as this was the time I needed the rate to return from the default rate. If it couldn't happen then, given my good history, what chance was there that I would get some future consideration. My only option now is to transfer this balance to die off the debt, because any payment at 30% only keeps them making money and does nothing toward the outstanding balance. |

| "Never even owned this card!" |
| I have read all of the postings on here and it does not look good! Here's one for ya, I have had Citi Bank calling my house for 2 years on tis card and I NEVER OWNED IT!! Representatives are screaming at me on the phone saying they have proof but will not send me a copy of the signature that they say is mine. Citibank said the original name on the Master card was Direct Merchants. I never applied for one and never owned one, yet they say I have a balance of over $1500.00. A year and a half ago I was told by a representative to submit a letter of dispute and the account would be closed. I didn't hear from these people again until last month and they are starting all over again with me. They have my address, and the last 4 of my SS# but the rest of the numbers are wrong. I wonder how many other people this has happened to? |

| "Nothing Good from this company" |
| I have been charged late fees causing me to have an over the limit fee all because they will change the billing date monthly. Example: My first billing date was the 10th, then it changed to the 13th. Notice the 3 day difference. That's because it takes them 3 days to post the payment. IF the payment is made on say the 10th, then they won't post it until the 13th, WHICH means the payment is 3 days late. Thus you get stuck with a late fee. When you pay early, they say it was for the previous month, when you pay on the right day, it takes them 3 days to post to the account. If you pay three days before the supposed billing date, they will change the due date. When contacted, they are rude, refuse to give you a set billing date, and are just not customer friendly at all. They will even go as far as to findout your cell number and will alternate calling your house and cell numbers if your account goes over the limit. They are the WORST company I have EVER dealt with. |

| "Beware " |
| i paid this card off in full thinking it was a done deal, but they charged me $3.00 for a service fee. I didn't recieve a bill from them thinking it was paid in full, but all of a sudden when i applied for a loan this company reported the same $3.00 service fee as being a late payment, and a negative item in my credit report. On my credit report there's not even a phone number for this company. |

| "this card sucks" |
| I am lucky enough to be able to pay off this card. As soon as I get through the b.s. I have sent off the balance but I am sure they will probably have some charge to come back to me on. The balance I got from customer no service supposedly good until the 22 of sept. Maybe I will be able to reply by at least next year to give you an idea how hard it is to get this account paid in full and completely closed and see I do not want them to ring my phone again.. |
