"low credit limit, FAMOUS for poor customer service"
I have been an Discover customer for two years. The initial credit line of $1,000 was OK, but after 2 years without credit limit increase I have closed account.

"Good card to have for domestic use only"
Like many other posters here, Discover is one of my first cards since college. I had it for six years and now a platinum card. During my ownership, the credit line went up and down depending on my credit report. One time they reduced my credit from $3500 to $800 without a warning because I had high balance with some other credit cards, and perhaps late payments on non-credit card balances. However, now they increased it back up to $2000. Discover is not a bad card over all, their customer service is good and never really charged me unpleasant surprising fees (unlike FirstUSA/BankOne/Chase). So I don't have much against them. Of course I don't like their interest rate, but it seems the norm for most consumer cards these days unless you have a pristine credit. My interest rate went from 14% to 20% and I had to threaten them with account closure in order to lower the interest back to 16%. I'll keep it open, but with 0 balance, since I was never late once in the six years. Discover is not useful at all outside the US (I don't know about Canada). I found no place in Europe accepting it for payment, except few ATMs where you can withdraw cash. Of course, with an immediate interest rate on cash advance of 22%, only a fool would ever use the cash advance.

Use it if you pay off your balance each month. They never have and will have competitive interest rate, it's not too high, but not low either.

Most attractive feature: Predictable behavior, nice online payment system. Friendly customer service.
Least attractive feature: High interest rate. It's completely useless abroad.

"Worst Student Card"
This card sucks. It has one of the highest APRs for student cards and they are very stingy in their credit limits. Once they deactivated my card because some suspicious activity came up, and they didn't even contact me. When I called them, they said I should resolve this, not even offering any help. Eventually, they called me to activate it again as if I never activited the card. I have no idea what's wrong with them. Very annoying. Spare yourself some trouble and get another card.

"High interest rate, but an otherwise good card."
Out of all of the cards I have ever had, this one has the highest interest rate. The credit limit is average. Customer service is pleasant and you are not bombarded with marketing pitches as others are apt to do. Online bill pay is simple and quick. I would recommend this card to someone who doesn't carry a balance over very often.

"College Students"
I was a college student when i got my Discover card, me and my friends, didn&#'t think we were eligible. But they said to put the tuiton amount down as our income. So we did, not understanding this. Also, I only had a federal workstudy wi\hich after a little bit of time, I lost it. Also, I only made about $100 a month. A few weeks past and next thing you know we all got credit cards, now we are all in debt. Because this person took advantage of us. I have been in debt for 4 years now and have been paying on my debt for a long time. My balance doe not seem to come down, and I feel it was all a con. So now I have bad credit for a while and there is no way Discover will help me get my balance. My interest is at a 9.9% so it is about $12.00 a month plus an over the limit fee of $29.00 a month. My monthly payment is $26. So I have to pay them at least $41 extra a month just to get my balance down $26. I was young. For all young people out there, what out for these places because they will get you. And your credit will be poor like mine.

"One of the Premier Cards for College Students"
Immediately after turning 18 and entering college, this was the first credit card I received. Though I&#'m not a big fan of the relatively high interest rates, I never missed a payment and the online payment option removed the time expended to write Discover a check each month. In addition, after my dorm was evacuated for three weeks during a college fire last year, Discover&#'s customer service temporarily stopped my account with no hassles at all from them. Instead of reissuing the card, I was able to call them when I got access back into my dorm, and my card was reactivated immediately. After a year and a half with the student card, Discover automatically sent me a Platinum card. I urge responsible college students to get this card if they would like to establish their credit.

"Morgan Stanley"
I enjoyed this card, until one day I had neglected to pay the minimum balance, and it was due the following day, I called to pay it over the phone, because i am allowed to do that with other credit cards, but the customer service representative was rude, and said i could only pay over the phone using a check, if i had a checking account with them, which i did not. I dont think its right that people can pay only if they have a certain kind of checking account.

"n/a"
I only got this card because I admire the company that provides it, Morgan Stanley. I have always been enamored and flabbergasted by this company&#'s elite standard of class, nobility, and dependability. Considering how the events of September 11th has caused many top notch companies to crumble, I give Morgan Stanley even more credit.
