I came on this web site to contact another credit card company about a problem and when I read the reviews for Exxon/Mobil felt that I had to put in my review. Personally this is the only gas card I use. The people in customer service are beyond helpful and friendly. When my daughters car was stolen it was Exxon/Mobil Credit Card Service who called me to tell me about unusual activity on my card which led to recovery of our car. When I made a trip with mutiple vechicles and a gas station told me I could not get anymore gas on the card because I'd gone over my daily limit, ONE call to customer service fixed the problem. I just thought they deserve someone to say something nice on their behalf. Thank for listening to me.

I tried to contact the 1-800 for a week in reference to an error on my credit card. The numbers given on the credit card bill to use are constantly busy. I tried paying the bill on line, and was advised that "Your current account status does not qualify account viewing. The number given is also busy. I tried to contact Monogram Credit Card of Georgia, and thier number is disconnected. There is no way to contact these people. This bank is the worst bank that I have worked with in over 20 years.

Billing
01/18/2005
There is a serious problem with the billing section. I have been receiving monthly statements and included in the monthly statements were late charges. Strangely enough, I haven't purchased any gas. How can you have late charges if there is no balance? Two weeks ago I recieved a refund check for overpayment, today I get a bill, but haven't purchased any gas. In addition to the bill, I get a letter stating my had been reviewed and I was in the worst current payment status along with some other negative statements. Because I am such a credit risk, my limit has been reduced to $100.00. The straw that broke the camel's back. Requested immediate cancellation of my account. After reviewing previous statements, i know what the problem is. They have serious problems in the billing section. If I can figure out the problem, the people being paid to do this job should be able to figure it out with no problem. NO more exxon for me. Termination of account in the order of business.

I received my exxon/mobil card and speedpass under seperate cover and have not received a bill or request for payment and today was refused credit. A card with no credit, and no notice before cut-off is not only a waste of time, it is an embarassment.

Don't have a Exxon Gas card

I have never owned a Exxon Gas card but yet they have me listed as filing bankruptcy which I have not. The credit bureau ignores me because Exxon and Monogram Bank of Georgia has me listed as filing bankruptcy.

Wish I'd seen the reviews here before I signed up for this worthless card. I've only had it for about 8 months, and it only has a $200 limit. Due to simple oversight on my part, I sent the August '04 payment later than usual (mailed it one day before it was due). I only live two hours away from the processing center in Carol Stream IL, so I figured at the absolute most it might take 2 days in the mail and another day to process -- two days late max. So in the interest of being a good customer, I used the link provided on the Exxon Mobil/Monogram website to inform them the payment was on its way.
Ended up taking six days for the payment to arrive in Carol Stream and get processed. I figured I'd get hit with a late fee, which I wasn't too upset about because it was my mistake. Sure enough, my new statement arrives a few days later and there's a $29 late charge.
But wait, there's more...today I get home and find a nice computer-generated form letter in my mailbox stating that Monogram has reviewed my account (the polite way of saying they took it upon themselves to re-run my credit without notifying me) and based on the present balances on my other cards they're canceling my Exxon Mobil account immediately.
At first I was stunned that my business meant so little to them, but after reading the reviews here I'm just amazed that this company is even allowed to remain in business. Apparently I can also look forward to my existing balance being shipped off to collection without notice.
Long story short, life is way too short to let yourself get treated like this by anyone. Monogram will do their best to take away your card at the first opportunity. Avoid this outfit like the PLAGUE or you'll be sorry. They act like your money and your credit history belong to them. I've spent years building my credit score and I can only imagine the damage hit it's about to take from Monorgram simply because they're completely incompetent and seemingly vindictive.
I won't do business with Exxon Mobil ever again, either. Any company that does business with Monogram is guilty by association, because Monogram gets their stink on anything that touches them.

owing for a card that I have never had!

I didn't know that I had this credit card until today when I found out from an attorney's office. Apparently someone used my social security number, name and address to charge $739.30.
At this point,,,I don't even think that this card deserves to be on the market! Apparently, someone has enjoyed it! When I asked the attorney's office to provide me with information about where it was issued from and where it had been used----I couldn't get that information!!!
I used the internet to find out what little I know! My suggestion------find out if you already have this card and don't know it!

Harrassment after not paying an invoice that was not received
07/27/2004
I have used this card for 21 years. There was no interaction with the company, so everything was fine.
Two months ago, I did not receive an invoice -- therefore I was not aware of it and did not pay it.
This led to incredible harrassment. I was no longer permitted to buy gas, and did not know why. Then I started to receive computerized calls -- in the evening during dinner, and on Saturday morning when the whole family was trying to sleep in.
Of course, when I received the next bill, I saw the outstanding balance and the late charge.
I had not missed a payment in 21 years. I found it offensive to:
1) not be able to use the card to buy gas;
2) receive annoying phone calls during dinner and on weekend mornings;
3) be hit with a late charge (although that is a common thing for companies to do).
One offense in 21 years, is no reason to treat a person like that. This was not even my fault. I did not receive the bill.
A better way of communicating would be preferable
Most Attractive Feature: It is easy to buy gas at an EXXOn or Mobil station.

ExxonMobl reduced my credit limit for bank error!
07/15/2004
I paid the full balance of &171.77 before the due date (bill was for $48.00). The bank had a processing error and didn't make the payment until 5 days later. It was 3 days late then! I called Monogram and informed them - the CSR told me 'NO problem'. My limit was reduced to $100.00! I called to challenge the limit only to be told to get documentation from the bank. I did and faxed it to them.....NOTHING! And, AND, they popped me for a $29.00 LATE FEE. No Problem.

10+yr cardholder done dirty by Exxon -- but I won in the end!
07/11/2004
I have very low credit card debt....but when i went to mexico as a transfer student, I owed exxon $12.00 for a recent fill up. When I came back the next month, I found out Exxon had 'cancelled' my card , because i was late on my one payment. For no other reason. My FICO credit score is 742, so I qualify for all of this "elite" cards -- but yet Exxon decided to cancel me because I was late one time in my life - for a measley $12.
When I called the 800 phone number and spoke with their version of "customer service". A very "stern" black male told me that my card was cancelled and he couldnt do anything about it.
They even put this on my credit report....but enough persistence with arguing with the 3 credit agencies has actually had this "deleted" from my credit history. (If the credit agencies cant confirm a bad report to your credit within 30 days--the credit agencies Experience,Equifax,Trans Union, then have to "remove" the entire entry from your credit history.) I argued it about 4 times over the period of a year, and I guess that on one of the occasions, they must have went past their 30 days and it has never shown up now for over 6 yrs. I got lucky maybe? =)

Card cancelled one late payment 15 yr. customer. Exxon/Mobil has outsourced its credit card business to Monogram CC Bank. No customer loyalty. The menu at MCCB prevents talking to a person. Call 1 (713)680-7901 to speak w/ E/M's credit card division in person. You have to pay for the call, but it's worth it. I would have rated every catagory a "zero", but it only went as low as "1" I'll never knowingly purchase an E/M product again.

Credit withdrawn
04/26/2004
I opened an ExxonMobile Credit card in September of '03. I was given a balance of $200 to use. Every month I paid the balance in full. January of '04 I had an outstanding balance of $14. I carried the balance to February where my bill was $187. I paid the balance in full and a week later I noticed that my card did not work at the pump. The very next day I got a letter from Monogram CC Bank of GA. stating that they have reviewed my account due to my aforementioned $14 outstanding balance and they have decided to close my account. Since when is a small outstanding balance a big deal to a CC company? Don't they make money on revolving balances? I think this is a Six Sigma failure. I am upset however there is lots of competition out there for fuel retailers.

silent cancelation followed by unbilled collections...
04/06/2004
Apparently a while back my Mobil card (wasn't due to expire until September) was canceled by Monogram. No problem, the gas pumps take my Visa if the speed pass wouldn't work...planned to get in touch with 'em to sort out what was wrong but just didn't.
Get a letter form CAC Financial (a division of Morgan) that i've got a piddily past due amount in collection (but they don't have any specifics, just an amount).
Dispute letters sent - the CAC guys you can talk to. The ExxonMobil folks can't retrieve records on canceled cards, apparently. I have no bills from them since the last one I cut a check for - and you'd think they'd first send some "Hey, you owe us" bills before going over to collection - but if the accounts closed they apparently don't do that even if money is owed (and I don't think I do -- I've asked for copies of the charges so if i screwed up, no problem...but I'm betting there aren't any.)
So I'm waiting to hear back from the folks at ExxonMobil. I'm wondering if they're buried under querys or wondering what happened to all the customers?

Very poor customer relations about billing

Having had a Mobil Card for 25 years and NEVER made a late payment, and having a $700 limit on my card,it was great. Then I got married in April of 03 and used it to move my wife to my area and our home. This put the new balance then up to about $500.I paid it in full when the statement came along, only to find that the next month the payment had not been credited to my account. So making a phone call to them and having to wait half an hour to speak to someone who could speak English I was told that they found the payment and it would be reflected on my next statement. It was not. I have tried to obtain records and payment reciepts from them for 4 months and have yet to see anything from them.Telling them that I have all my cancelled checks at hand does't do any good.As far as I'm concerned and care,I'm paid in full and can prove it to them. They don't care if I have all of them, they still insist on calling all hours of the day and night, even on Sundays. I know I'm right and if they want to damage my credit for something like that then I also have the right to sue them for it,and they can pick up the cost of that for me.

I was a Exxon Card holder for 25 years. I had been late a few times, but I had always paid the requested amounts. I had even had an increase of $400.00 in the previous month. The very next month, I recieved a letter stating my credit limit had been reduced by 1/2. When I called MCCBG, I was told to accept what they said my new limit was, or else. I took the else and closed the account. They really did not act like the loss of a 25 year customer was all that bad, or significant. I even wrote the CEO of ExxonMobil, but I guess one lone consummer will not impact their botton line. Do not use this card. Use a VISA or MC. This credit card bank does not care for its customers.

I am commited to stop doing credit card business with any/all retail establishments that are affilited with MCCBG.
- Repeated random checks of "credit worthiness" result in without warning changes to credit limits
- Terrible customer service. A phone call inquiring about an outstanding balance results in a recorded message "anything you say will be used to collect a debt"??
- Avoid them. From the start, you are nothing more than a potential bad debt.

Don't be late!
07/15/2003
After 17 years of being an Exxon & Mobil customer, I was 1 month late with my usual payment due to my own stupidity -- I misplaced a bill. I received a letter from Monogram Bank of Georgia (they handle Exxon/Mobil credit cards, division of GE Finance) telling me that my credit limit was being cut from $2000 (which was excessive -- I never asked for that much!) to $178 (too little -- I drive a lot and charge $150-250/month). I called customer service to work the issue out (they're in India like everyone else nowadays, nightmare call) explaining that my payment in full was schedule for 6 days out from today, 13 days in advance from statement due date, and I would simply like a $500 limit. They refused to put my account back in order until payment was received indicating that regardless of my history with the companies, they had no obligation to extend credit if payments were missed. We're talking about 6 days people!!! The time it would take for my payment to arrive and clear. I come from a long business background and understand the value of a customer, and what the term "lifetime value" means...I do not believe either Exxon/Mobil or Monogram understands anything other then the next statement cycle. Stay away form these guys unless you never expect to have any issues with delays whatsoever. I could understand a finance charge or late fee...but that kind of treatment with my history and credit scores after ONE occurrence!?!?!

It is easy to acquire, reports to the credit agencies and provides a VISA or MASTERCARD alternative to someone trying to establish another line of credit. Consumer Fraud
04/28/2002
This company regularly engages in "late postings" resulting in additional penalities and interest. They are slow to respond to evidence (e.g. cancelled checks) demostrating that payment was made and funds received by them prior to the due date. They respond with pat computerized letters that have no relevance to the question asked or the specific situation. They have NO PHYSICAL ADDRESS to which Federal Express could be sent.
They added fees and interest to an amount in dispute ($140.70) until it equaled $290. When they were sent a check for the $290 to prevent futher negative information from being entered on our credit report, they issued a refund for $222. Now, 4 months later, they are demanding that refund back, adding penalities and interest to that amount.
I just realized that the Home Depot card is this same bank and I intend to cancel this immediately!
