| "Im canceling...." |
| I was told on my first call to C.S that I was one day late. then on the second call, I was told that I was five days late. its my fault, but for them to slap the 28% interest on my account which is my first time being late, they want me to make a $173 minimum payment which is not going to happen. cancelled the card and will resume making payments to pay off this thing. |

| "Chase PerfectCard better than this card." |
| The Chase PerfectCard offers the same benefits as this card. However, it offers rebates for gas purchases at ANY gas station in the world. So, you don't have to use it at only ExxonMobil gas stations ; you can use it at any gas station. |

| "Real Rebate" |
I started looking for a replacement for my Discover card after they changed their policy. This is the card. It pays a 1% rebate (3% on Mobil purchases) posted as a credit to your account the following month. It's not "tiered" like Discover, American Express and others, so the savings add up fast, and there are no games about how to get your rebate. While I would prefer a check to a credit on my next bill, the credit is fine since it is every month and not just once a year. It's the best value out there. I consolidated all my cards to this one (and realized we spend way too much money on credit cards!!!) But we had a $17 credit last month. It's the best deal available.

| "REVIEW of ExxonMobil Platinum Mastercard" |
When I saw the ad for this card, I thought that there would be some catch to it; but I obtained the card and have been using it for the past couple of years. Each month, I receive a detailed list of all transactions with phone numbers of the merchants for easy contact (if needed).
I have now cancelled my old Visa card which had ceased giving a 1% rebate on purchases. I still have my Discover card; but I would only use it in case the merchant didn't accept Mastercard.
Each month, my wife and I make about $3,000 to $5,000 of purchases--so each month we get a rebate of $30 to $50 (one month we got $64).
I really like to get paid for using this card--it's the best one I've found. |

| "Great Card for Exxon or Mobil gas users" |
This card has no annual fee, and provides a cash rebate for purchases made at any Exxon or Mobil gas station (even for repairs or state inspections!)
The rebate is 3% from those purchases, and 1% elsewhere. Unlike Discovercard, which has recently changed their cashback setup to require a higher purchase amount for the next higher rebate rate, this card returns a straight 1% from the start.
The only caveat is that the rebates apply only towards future purchases from Exxon or Mobil- for me, this is no problem at all, because I regularly use gas from them, and it is credited in full every month.
I pay in full every month, so the higher APR doesn't concern me at all-
So the conditions for getting this card should be:
- You use Exxon or Mobil gas regularly
- You pay off in full monthly
The 3% adds up quickly with the amount of gas I use, and it also was applied to a repair I had done at a Mobil station, which was nice. |

| Most attractive feature: 3% rebate on gas purchases from ExxonMobil, 1% elsewhere |
| Least attractive feature: Rebate applies only to future gas purchases; no online account access yet |

| "Exxon Mobil Mastercard - better than Discovercard cashback bonus" |
This card has no annual fee, and provides a cash rebate for purchases made at any Exxon or Mobil gas station (even for repairs or state inspections!)
The rebate is 3% from those purchases, and 1% elsewhere. Unlike Discovercard, which has recently changed their cashback program to increase the minimum purchase levels to get 1%, this is a straight 1% all the time. Also, it doesn't drop the level to 0.25% at the shopping clubs like BJ's.
The rebate is credited MONTHLY too, and in full, unlike Discovercard, which now requires a minimum $20 increment, meaning you need to purchase at least $2000 to get the cashback bonus (even more if you haven't reached $3500 for the year).
The only disadvantage is that they haven't yet implemented an online system to check currently posted transactions, though an e-billing option is now available.
This card has now taken top spot in my wallet- |

| "Fair benefits but high APR" |
| This would be a good card if it weren't for the high interest rates. When my bill gets too high for me to pay off the balance, I must transfer my balances to a lower rate card in order to be able to afford to use it. However, the rebate for gasoline has paid my monthly gasoline bills for years, except of course when I use my motorhome which only gets 6 miles to the gallon. All in all I have been pretty happy with this card and the service that I have received by their personnel. |

| "Getting rid of it!" |
I had this card for 6+ years. It was pretty good back there when issuer was GE. Credit card business was sold few times, currently it is Associates. For the last year account number was changed 4 times (!!!) Now it is Exxon/Mobil, so it should give me more freedom, right? No way! In the Bay Area, all Exxon stations were sold to Valero, the closest one is 80 miles away! So, I cannot redeem my earned rebates (and can't get anything, but 1% rebate). However, if I use their phone 'locator' service, it will list all those Valeros! I was trying to talk to Customer Service - it useless! They don't care if there is a problem for the customer, if you can get them to promice you something - 9 times out of 10 they won't keep these promices!
Same time APR they charge is high! Some 'store credit cards' are more competitive! They gave me Platinum benefits, but I still can see no value, compare to that APR.
Big issue - disputed items.
- will never issue a conditional credit;
- will never investigate in 60 days or less;
- will never take your (customer) side!
I had an unauthorized charge that they won't credit back because they "merchant won't answer their calls". Department that does all investigations is never available when you call.
Same problems when they made a mistake, not a merchant - it takes centures to get a credit!
Last, but not least problem - how they post payments and credits. They tend to delay credits while charges are instant. I had something returned at Sears and 20 min lated I purchased a shirt. In my statement, charge was posted 3 days BEFORE the credit! Sears said that all transactions are processed in one daily batch and they showed me transactions log. CS rep. simply said - "read the Agreement"... Worst one - payments over $1,000 or when you are paying 'New Balance' in full. The Agreement says that they will post payments on the day payment is received, rep. told me they even receive mail on Saturdays an Sundays and process payments on those days, in reality, for those payments, they will post them after check is paid by my bank.
Example: I had a due date of May 15th, I sent them $2,200 check (New Balance in full) by Priority Mail with tracking number. USPS reported that letter was delivered on 05/14, payment was posted on 05/17! When I requested a copy of cancelled check from my bank, I saw that they stamped it on 05/15 and my bank paid it on 05/16 (both stamp on the check and bank statement). So, I ended up with Finance Charge at 20+% and $30 Late Fee! I faxed that check and statements over to investigate - after 60+ days and 5 phone calls, the only credited back $30, and it still going, and going...
Bottom line - I'm trying to get those credits and at least something of my rebates. Once I have these - I will close my account immediately! |

| "Review of Exxon Mobil Platinum Mastercard" |
| I have held this credit card for over 5 years and am extremely happy with it. Company provides excellent customer service as well as a very generous award program. Exxon/Mobil purchases received a 3% rebate; all other purchases receive a 1% rebate. The rebates are accumulated and applied to future Exxon/Mobil gas purchases charged to this card |
