"Never ever get this card"
I cannot imagine what 1st Financial does is even legal. They are the most corrupt credit card ever. They will harass you continually even if payments are up to date. They don't read notes or anything. They are the worst company I have ever dealt with. Save your sanity and find somewhere else. It's not worth it.

"Stay away. Run, don't walk."
If you get an offer from this company, burn it. Or return it with a collection of coupons for toilet cleaners. Basically this company preys on students, gives them very low credit limits, and charges many many unnecessarily high fees. You are much better off getting a prepaid card or just using a debit card. The low limit isn't going to help you, I promise. If you have a problem of any kind, good luck. Their customer services representatives will lie to you every chance they get. Just run away.

Most attractive feature: They offer credit. That's the only good thing.
Least attractive feature: Customer service is abysmal.

"New cardholder"
I got a offer when I first turned 18, they offered 0% interest on purchases over I think $250? But the main reason I didn't get it in the first place was because in the fine print it said "initial credit limit $150, however it may be lowered to $100" so I wasn't going to try and play around with that. I went with the capital one MTV visa because I get 5points per dollar on entertainment and they gave me a $500 limit, couldn't complain with me having no credit and that limit. However, to get the points I needed I would end up putting $200-$300 on my card at a time, (I made a payment once the charge posted to my account) however, in the second month, Capital One(CO) started to get a little sketchy. My payments were being "held" to wait for "verification" that they recievied my payments. So I would have to make a payment, it would post to my account and show I had it available, then the next day it wouldn't be there anymore. Like I paid my college deposit on my card which was $500 my total limit. I mean, I couldn't beat 500 points. So my balance would go from 500 to like 30-40(I always paid the extra 10% they allowed) back to five hundred and then back to 30-40. Well this got annoying, and hey, this credit card so far has been awesome, however I don't like that they round the avalible balance, lime my first purchase on it was like 12.06 but it showed that my avail lie is only $137, I think that's a little sketchy. But unlike most, I haven't had a problem. Yes after my promotionaly period my apr will be 29.9%, but my CO cards apr is 24.9% and I didn't get a intro discount. And have never paid a cent in interest for six months that I've had the card

"Burn the application!"
I got this card 8 years when I was Senior in HS. I was able to build a decent credit history with this card in the beginning with a small limit.

They use to charge $10 to ACH payment to them when it was free for every other cards. After the credit reforms, they spiked their APR to 29.99%. I've asked them if they could lower it and the response I got was that was the lowest they can go. Seriously?

I had a late payment (my fault for not remembering I used it) from 6 years ago. Wrote a goodwill letter to ask them if they could remove it. Answer was no.

I'm counting down the day till I pay off the remaining balance so I can get rid of this.

"They suck"
They were good when is started out but spiked up the interest rate extremely high! And added an annual fee last year! They would not give me a limit increase to pay my tuition, i still have a $500 limit and I make over 80K per year. So i just have it at a $0 balance because its not worth it! especially when i needed it to pay for tuition!!!!!

Most attractive feature: Best feature is that they will give it to anyone without credit history!!
Least attractive feature: High APR of 29.99% + new annual fee of $59 or something like that.

"DO NOT GET THIS CARD! "
If you set up a payment to automatically come out of your bank account, even once your balance is paid off, they will pull out the payment. This happened to me. I thought with no balance my payments would stop, but they didn't and because of 100 dollars I wasn't expecting to come out, I ended up with an overdraft fee which the company refused to pay. On top of that, they were EXTREMELY rude! I will never use this joke of a credit card company again.

Most attractive feature: High credit limit.
Least attractive feature: Customer service.

"An alright credit card company"
All credit card companies are pretty tough especially with today's economy. However, 1FBUSA has been really good to me in my opinion, even though when my credit limit increases here and there it's very tempting. This company does charge a high APR rate, but what credit company hasn't? Customer service is alright, could be better. Overall, it's an okay credit card to have, especially for emergencies. It's been a life saver.

"DO NOT ACCEPT THIS C/C"
This credit card company is filled with crooks who are only trying to steal your money. I can tell you that I have never had a late payment and have been a great customer. My APR was increased to 30% and everytime I call customer service, they cannot do anything for me. It seems that for years this credit card company has never been able to reduce their interest rates. I've had the credit card for over 7 years now. Unfortunately, my limit is somewhat high and I'm trying to pay off. I pay more interest than anything else. Stay Away. This company is full of crooks!!!!!

Most attractive feature: There's nothing good about this credit Card. PLEASE STAY AWAY!
Least attractive feature: Everything including the 29.99% APR.

"Annual Fee"
I just want to mention something to anyone who is planning on calling every year to waive the annual fee. I called to cancel and they said "oh but we'll waive it! All you have to do is call every year and then we won't charge you with no warning!" And I told them that it still didn't sound like a great deal, and THEN they said "Well how about we just waive it permanently?" I strongly recommend going for the permanent waive if you need to keep this one open for the high limit and long history!

Most attractive feature: They allow you to have credit.
Least attractive feature: They randomly charge you fees that you never agreed to in the first place.

"The most wost credit card EVER!!!"
I have been a cardholder for 6 years and I have recently been able to pay off my balance. I mailed in what I thought the remaining balance was and upon calling them to cancel it, I was told my balance was $21.10 and my available was $78. This does not make any sense when my previous available was $1800. It's memorial day weekend so I will have to call them on Tuesday to speak to someone about this. If I had known what I know now 6 years ago I would have never accepted this card. I thought I was making a wise choice leaving for college with a bit of security in my wallet but I was definitely wrong! I really hope that I can effectively cancel my card without the hassle I have read on this page.
