"STAY AWAY FROM THIS CARD AND BANK"
They are terrible! They charge for everything, even to make a payment. You cannot even access you bill online to review but have to wait for it in the mail. Lord forbid you don't get your mail, you will be charge more fees! They gave us credit when we didn’t have any, but it cost us $100 just to get the card. No introductory rate, no benefits, no savings. 2 months later we were approved for a Capital One card with 0% intro rate and no upfront fees and they do not charge to make a payment. We wasted $100 for nothing on this card. They are terrible!

"Not a bad card"
I received an offer in December of 2009 for the First Premier Mastercard. I had recently had a $15,000 repossession for an auto loan on my credit report so I was shocked to receive an offer for credit. I read the contract terms carefully, and though the fees were high, I decided to apply for the card. I was approved for a $250 credit limit. I have never missed a payment and have received 1 credit limit increase so far. (They will give you 1 every year provided you do not miss payments). I have read several complaints about this card, bu t I have never had the first problem with them. As long as you make your payment on time every month, you will have nothing to worry about. I am so grateful to First Premier Bank for approving me because it has helped my credit. I have since been approved for 4 other credit cards with less fees. I will continue to carry the FPB Mastercard because it is my oldest account and continues to help build my credit. If you were one of the lucky ones who got in the door with the 9.9% interest rate, be grateful. I think they have increased new cardholders to 39% interest rate. Don't let all the bad reviews fool you. If you have bad credit, just suck it up and pay the high fees, NEVER MISS A PAYMENT, and don't go over your limit and this card WILL help you repair your credit. Like I said, I have never had one problem with this card or their customer service. After I was approved for my other cards, I called to cancel and they even gave my a $45 credit on my account if I kept it open. They are a great company, they just have high fees, BUT that is the price you are gonna have to pay if you have bad credit. Forget the secured cards because you have to put up your own cash. FPB is not bad no matter what you read. If you can afford the fees and have bad credit, I would definitely recommend this card.

"Satisfied!"
I have had horrible credit for years and never had a credit card... I debated filing bankruptcy but as a last resort and after getting advice online I decided to apply for the "adventium" card through first premier bank... I was approved! I did have to pay an upfront fee of $95 and had a fee of $75 instantly applied to the card, but with my history I hesitantly accepted it as part of the deal... I have made every payment since receiving the card, often have the card "maxed"! Have never had an issue wit this card! Was a week late in April '11 due to financial issues but sold my car and called to payoff the card! The customer service rep removed the one late fee and seemed very helpful and understanding of my situation! Since having this card I have received two cards from other companies as well and have increased my credit rating(not a huge jump, but any improvement is better than none!) I Albert pleased with this card and with first premier bank! I have also been able to be approved for a loan for a moped( not possible before) only downside is that they have multiple cards through first premier but your only allowed one! With what this bank has done fore me I would sign for everyone if it were possible!!! Thank you first premier for saving me from bankruptcy and allowing me to become more financiLly secure!!!!

"Mixed feelings on this one...stay away if possible."
Aug 08', having just evaluated my credit worthiness and getting a score of the 480-500 range. I decided it was time to start rebuilding my credit. Having never had a credit card before and a short debacle with a checking account when I was 18 that left me financially cripple, I went in search of 'bad credit', credit cards. Found this one and applied.
Ridiculous start up fees, I cant recall exact amounts, but around 75% credit extension on a meager $200 credit limit. I knew I it would cost me and was willing to pay if I could have a respectable credit number again.
Fast forward to roughly 6 months later, I receive an offer in the mail from the same bank for another card. As hastily as possible, I filled out the application and sent it in. Almost same result as with the first card, but once again I was okay with it if it meant rebuilding my credit.
Another six months goes by, I ask for a credit increase on both accounts, only receive it on one (an additional $100, now at $300/$200 respectively). I wait another six months and reapply again for another increase (get it on the 2nd card, now $300/$300). I admit I was not the best handler of my credit, always floating a balance and a couple incidents of over-the-limit (however, I quickly pulled it back under).
Fast forward to a month ago. I decided its been awhile since I've had any increases (note the only time you get them is when you ask for them, unlike other cards) so i asked for on both accounts. Another $100/$125 at the same time (so $400/$425 respectively), and I am quite tickled.
However I have two other cards in the mix these days; Credit One Bank (a little more reasonable, poor credit card), and Orchard Bank (best poor credit card, lowest limit though). I recently pulled my score, and back in the 700+ range and am a little disappointed about their failing to revise my terms (since they obviously pull your report for increases). A simple call may fix this problem, but by far these are the most expensive cards for me to maintain; 133/yr/ea ($49 annual fee + $7 'monthly servicing fee' x 12months)
COB - $84/yr (billed at 8.25/mo)
Orchard - $59/yr
Premier - $49/yr + $7/mo |

Most attractive feature: Its a credit card...if you absolutely need one.
Least attractive feature: Monthly Servicing Fee of $7 in addition to a $49 annual fee.

"I am Soooo Fortunate!"
I filed bankruptcy in November 2009; received a discharge March of this year. I could not believe it when I received this offer in the mail. Skeptical at first, I thoroughly read the terms and agreement as well as online reviews. Although the fees seemed astronomical; I realized I wasnt the best candidate for a credit card, and sucked up the moping about all the charges (what I like to refer to as the price you pay for bad credit)
After thorough review of the card, and multiple declines from other companies due to the bankruptcy, I applied and was APPROVED FOR A $700 LINE OF CREDIT in less than two weeks. I could not believe it!
A personal finance class and experience has better prepared me for guarding my credit as though it were my life. The annual fee of $175, in my opinion, is simply a test to gauge your responsibility. I have no problem with that, it's a challenge for my own personal growth.
I have not used my card yet, and I wont until I pay the balance in full. I plan not to charge anything I'm unable to pay off within 30 days. This is the most important rule.
Customer Service was awesome!!!! I'm looking forward to re-establishing my credit and thank FPB for giving me a second chance when everyone said it'd take me at least a year to get any offers. I'm officially a loyal customer and will utilize this card for the purpose of new and improved credit. |

"Do not get"
Horrible. This costs way too much money. Program Fee = $95
Account Set Up Fee = $29
Annual Fee = $48
Monthly Servicing Fee = $7
Are you kidding? Really? Outrages. Get a secured card with another company, even a Secured card with Wells Fargo is way better. Hope Walmart gets into banking but the big banks don't want them too. Why? Because they will charge less. Do not get this horrible card, honestly I can't believe it is legal for the charges they have. |

"Horrible company"
I closed my card and was told that I owed $170 after my payment went through. The company sent me a bill with the account still open and the amount due was $100 over what was stated. When I called the company to complain they told me there was nothing they could do and the supervisor was rude and not any help at all. NEVER get a card from them!!!!
