I received my card today from Fleet. My application was approved on 8/26/04. So it took under two weeks for my card to arrive. I think the merger is slowing transcations down. Anyway, I registered for their online bill payment (FREE of charge). It is great. The offer no annual fee, additional cards at no cost, and free online bill payment. I think secured cards are a much better option than these high rate unsecured cards for people with poor credit. I do have a card with First Premier that works great though. So far I am happy with this card. I also LOVE the fact that customer service is available 24/365.

I recelived my card after waiting for it for a really long time. Everytime you call customer service you get a different anser on your question so thats a let down. Fleet has the option to pay your bill online free and also to view your account online which is great. It takes a really long time to do everything though since this is a new program for fleet. The card itself works really great and when you make a payment online it usually posts within 3 days. To deposit money to the account takes 10-15 days to do which is a really long time but the card does have no annual fee. Also, the interest is ok, 18.9% is a little high but hey...you didnt get bad credit overnight. Even though the customer service isnt the best they are open 24/365 which is really good. I would reccommend this card as long as you are willing to wait a little while to get it. By the way they give you a free extra card which is really great, most secured cards dont offer that.

I applied for the Fleet secured card in mid march 2004 and now it is may and i have yet to get any papers or cards from them. The recording on the machine said i was approved but no cards. When i call customer service i get a different story about where my card is everytime, which is really irritating. When I finally do get the cards I will keep you posted on what the service and how the card works!

unlike other secured cards it has no annual fee when reporting to the credit bureau it doesnot mention it is a secure card great customer service if account remains in good standing fleet has the option to convert it to a non secure card

You have to deposit a minimum of $300 into a savings account which secured this cards credit line. However, this card has a high interest rate - around 18% - so carrying a balance would be expensive. You can access the credit card information on the website, which is a good feature.
