"Good if you use Hilton"
Every year I book a category 6 room in LA. This year I also booked in Detroit and in London, and paid for all of these with this card. I never had a problem with getting a room, and although Hilton is not the best hotel chain, they can be very good. There's no great advantage to getting 3 points per dollar spent; it's the ratio of 'how many points does it take to get a room' to 'number of points per dollar spent' that governs whether that's a good deal, and it appears to be fair - not great, not bad. Also, I got a Citibank Hilton card, took the bonus points for a purchase, then asked Hilton to merge the Citibank generated Hilton account points into my American Express Hilton account, which they did.

Most attractive feature: Easy to get rooms - never had a problem
Least attractive feature: not part of membership rewards

"THE BEST HHONORS HOTEL REWARDS CARD OUT THERE "
Highly recommend this card if you travel allot, pay your statement balance in full each month and prefer to stay in a Hilton family chain hotel while on travel.

The only negatives on it is AMEX is not as widely accepted as VISA/MC/Discover because of their higher fees to merchants, therefore recommend you have at least a VISA or MC in your wallet as a backup card. Also the initial credit limit I received with this card was extremely low (compared to my other credit cards I received). After having it 6 months the credit limit was raised substantially enough to allow me to use this card as my primary card and in the course of a few years is right up there with my other credit cards credit limit without having to ask for a credit line increase.

Most attractive feature: Earn HHONORS Points and no annual fee for the card
Least attractive feature: Low initial credit limit

"Best Hotel Card"
This is probably the best hotel card in the market. I have another Priority Club/Holiday Inn Credit card and it's nothing compare to this card. I get 5 points for every dollars in certain places and 3 points everywhere else, compare 1 point for every dollar on my Priority Club/Holiday Inn card. I get more points for my dollars and a better hotel compare to Priority Club.

Most attractive feature: More points for you dollars/More hotel for your dollars
Least attractive feature: None

"Underrated credit card"
I LOVE this card. Amex earlier this year upped the benefits, and they're now handing out 5 points per $1 spent at restaurants, grocery stores, gas stations, the post office, and drug stores, and 3 points per dollar on EVERYTHING ELSE. At the very least, you're going to earn three points per dollar spent. Perfect.

Hilton redemtion levels for Hotels went up this year, which kind of sucked. BUT, with this card, the points can add up quick and possibly make up for the higher redemption levels.

Oh, and there's no annual fee!

This is an underrated card, IMO.

Most attractive feature: Points add up QUICK
Least attractive feature: High APR after intro period

"Stay at Hotel or loose your points earned"
Hilton enforced a new rule this year. If you do not stay at one of their properties in a 12 month period they will set your hhonors account balance back to zero points.....all that you had is gone....Holiday Inn points....never expire...guess which Hotels I will be staying at...

"AMEX Customer service is the worst in the industry."
I've closed all my AMEX cards except for this one. The Only reason I did not close this one is because the Citibank USA is running neck to neck with AMEX for bad customer service. I also have a priority club visa from Choice Hotels (Clarion Holiday Inn) I tend to use them more because the customer service is very helpful and makes you feel that they want your business.

Most attractive feature: Points for free hotel room
Least attractive feature: AMEX Customer service is the worst in the industry.

"Great card if you want hotel stays"
This is a great card if you use it for the hotel points. Every 2-3 months, I earn another free hotel night. Just be sure that hotel stays fits your lifestyle better than miles or gas rebate, and that Hilton/Hampton have properties where you want to go. Value-wise, a much better proposition than airline $1=1 mile cards, or 1% gas rebate cards.

I agree the low initial credit limit was disappointing, and they refused to raise it until after six months, though if I had called within the first 30 days, they would have done it. Customer service behavior is mechanical, emotionless, inflexible, and frustrating to deal with.

Most attractive feature: 3 points / $ on all purchases
Least attractive feature: typically bad AMEX service

"3 points is not enough reward for this card."
3 points sound like a lot but it isn't. Hilton rewards 10 points for each dollar spent at a Hilton hotel. While Starwoods rewards 2 points for each dollar spent. As a result the starwood points are worth 5 time more then Hilton points. Starwood also exchanges 1 star point for one airline mile which is much better then the 10,500 HH points for 1000 miles.

I will be switching to the Starwood Preferred Guest card from American Express. You do pay $30 a year, but you can exchange points to miles to more than 15 to 20 different airlines. Its better then the airlines cards that I have seen. However, you only get bonus points for Starwood Hotel stays.

Most attractive feature: 3 points for each dollar
Least attractive feature: ONLY 3 points for each dollar.

"People claim American Express has good service but it doesn't."
After cancelling my ATT credit card I decided to get a rewards card. I called American Express and wanted the Hilton card. I gave all my information and they said they only send them out onece a month. I said that shouldn't be a problem. I never got the card, so I called again. They said it was in the computer and I would get it. It is now almost a year later and I still have not received the card. I went and got a nextcard instead. I do have another american express card and all is fine with it but I hope I never need customer service because one hand does not talk to the other. The rewards on the card looked good but I guess I will never know if I could have earned a free flight or a night in a hotel.
