"They are liars and cheats"
After losing my job and getting behind on payments, I made great strides to pay my credit cards on time. After 6 months I called and asked for a lower APR and after the usual waiting for a "review" I was told "I have good news you have been approved for a 14.9% APR". I am currently at the default of 29.99%. I was so happy and overwhelmed I thanked her perfusely. She told me it would take effect not the next billing cycle, but the one afterwards. Two months later I called to inquire why I didn't see the rate change, another rep told me yes she did see that I was approved but that it took 2 billing cycles to take effect. Another month, more run around. Again, the rep said she saw I was approved but it took 2 cycles. When I tried to reason with her that it had been over 2 billing cycles, she started dancing around and trying to make me feel stupid about how long it had been. Now 4 months after being told I was approved, I am told I was never approved for a rate decrease, that USUALLY after 6 months they approve it but not in my case. He couldn't explain why after 9 months of timely payments I didn't qualify.

"Household "
After charging me $100.00 to increase my credit line from $3000.00 to $4000.00, in August 2006, they cancel the card in December of 2006 for "inactivity, which may be that you have never used the card". Weird. Don't really care, except it will show on credit report that THEY cancelled the card, not the cardholder.

Least attractive feature: They "cancelled" my card for inactivity! $4000.00 credit line, light use.

"Don't Let This Card Fool You"
I have been reading reviews on how this is a good starter card and how it's rebuilding crefit for some, but after you keep a balance on this card for a couple of years, they will screw you over. First of all I have had this card for 3 years, and never once have they: incresed my credit limit, lowered my interest rate, and offered me any promotion on balance transferring. I just got a letter saying that my interest rate will be incresing to 29.99% beginning after July. I have fair credit, never missed a payment on this, and have always payed over the minimum payment. They have always turned me down for a credit increse, even after you tell them you want to transfer a balance, and every time you request a decrese in the intrest rate, they give you the same answer that there is "currently not a lower rate available." I have already transferred half of my balance, and they have lost a customer. I have already destroyed the card and will never use it again. They also try to tell you that they raise the intrest rate from a current review of your credit report. I already had a copy from this particlular credit agency and there was nothing negative, and what's funny is what I got this card, my credit was worse then what it is now.

"Idiots"
From the first day i got the card i had a problem with it. I received this card and my citibank divedend card at the same time. HB gives me a whopping $500 limit while the other one is double. As soon as i got the card i transferred full balance to it. This process took a pathetic 30 mins to accomplish because i had to explain to the CSR what a balance transfer is and how it works. And the worst part is i could barely understand her (yes she was from india).

A few months down the line i get auto credit limit increase from the other card by 40% so i figure hey maybe i can call this company for a limit increase as well seeing how i paid down my $500 debt so quickly. They turned me down and gave me some bs about them being a more conservative bank. I also called in to do a balance transfer to pay off more of my debt. They said that i couldnt do one. i told them the card is totally useless. But i still kept it to pay off my other debt, i just took a break from using it till i COULD do a transfer.

After calling once a month i get my balance transfer at 1.99% interest which isnt bad cause my limit is 500 anyway. A week later i get checks from them in the mail for 0% balance transfers. I called them about it but they wouldnt honor it even though it was mailed out the day after my transfer. I paid this credit card down as soon as i can.

I actually put off cancelling this credit card cause i was at 0 balance and they couldnt do anything to me. but as soon as i read some of these horror stories i called in. They didnt even offer me anything to stay with them

"HSBC card"
I applied for this card back in 2001 when I got the Best Buy credit card. I would like it noted, that I have never had a problem with the Best Buy card ever. Always very happy with this card.
HSB card, on the other hand, I have not.

I have very good credit, FISCO in the 700's
They refused to lower my APR from 21.99%. I had asked 3 times. The last time I called when they chaged to the card to the HSBC card, they finnaly lowered my APR from 21.99 to 15.99, which helped, but is still my highest APR card. I do not use it unless I want to transfer a balance, and am possibly going to cancel this card. Very unhappy with the customer service. The only good thing has been the lower APR offers. Still nothing to keep the card over. I wouldn't recommend this card to anymone due to the reasons above.

"Customer service is sucky"
I recently received an invitation in the mail a few weeks ago. I wish I would have conducted proper research before I sent in my reply because I wouldn't have went through. I did accept and so far things have been a hassle. I contacted customer service because it's been over 14 days and I still don't have the card. I asked the lady, Sherri, if they can tell me when it's coming in. She rudely told me that "we don't have that capability sir". By the way, I did ask for her rep ID and she told me that "we don't do that here". So I politely asked her if she could tell me when they received the invitation, again she replied rudely that "we don't have that capability sir, you're suppose to remember those things yourself". Well excuse me missy, but I work and go to school FULL TIME, I may not remember some things. The rudest lady I ever spoke to. I'm going to keep the card for six months (0% into, or so they say) then I'm going to trash it, it's just not worth the hassle. Of course if I see any fees then I'm closing it immediately as that was not disclosed in the agreement. I will post an update in anything goes awry.

"household bank the worst to customers"
had a credit card with these people they didn`t credit my acct.,even though i paid before due dates,over charges and they keep ripping people off

"Household gave me a chance to re-build my credit"
My credit was terrible. And, the "offers" in the mail for credit cards were pretty awful- Application Fees, yearly fees, processing fees, and interest of 25.99%. Household stepped in with a $55 yearly fee and 18.99% interest. I started off with a $200 limit.

It was hard to pay it on time via the mail because the bill came so near the due date, but I was much happier when I discovered that the bill could be managed on-line. I've not had a problem with them since. The on-line service is easy to understand and use. Plus it saves you a stamp.

Within a couple months I was offered a different Household card with no yearly fee. The only part I didn't like about this is that it didn't absorb the card I had. I still had to pay that off. I closed the account on it and started using the new card.

After a year I got raised to a $500 limit. My rate hasn't gone down, but my credit has grown and developed and I won't need to use this card much longer.

Secret of success- pay on time every month. Sounds hokey, but you won't have a problem that way.
