| "intrusive/ abusive stupid card alerts" |
Since switching from BOA to Barclay's Bank LLBEAN VISA card we have had a stream of irritating and intrusive alerts coming in by phone and email. All related to local and routine, repetitive purchases such as gas and groceries. It would appear that their "Security" branch does have a clue. Since the pattern of our purchases is so predictable one has to wonder what sort of Keystone Cops are manning the fraud desk. And don't think we haven't told them each time we call to confirm the charges. Their response is inane... "it is all just a routine check."
We have never had a security issue. Never filed a complaint. Never pay late. We should be invisible to them. I mean nada but these folks can't control themselves. Whenever we travel we alert them to our itinerary which has helped but even that precaution hasn't been foolproof. I wonder if Barclay's has been hiring the same ex-fast food service workers who flocked to Homeland Security a few years back.
I've told my wife to dump LLBEANVISA but she loves the free shipping. LL BEAN... are you people asleep up there in Maine?
Wake up to the complaints and fire Barclay's. You are tarnishing your usually excellent customer service reputation! |

| I have been with LLBean (card) for a lonnnngggg time. I paid off my balance every month. I have NO, nein nada bills to my name. I am paying off my home in the next 2 months. My credit score is over 800. I am an active duty US Army Officer. Joined the Army in 1969, retired in 1997 and was recalled in 2007 (Blackhawk pilot). I returned from Iraq last April (2010) and noticed my interest rate was over 23% huh? What? WTF? Was Barkleys taken over by Tony Soprano? If I want 2 pay rates like this sheet I would go to the Mafia. This is pure unadulterated BS. I called them and gave them a piece of my mind believe me folks. I was insulted by this 23+% interest rate. I had a rate of something around 7% before I departed for Iraq. Bottom line, I told LLBean they can stick their card and their catalogs where the sun does NOT shine. Screw LLBEAN People go to Landsend but especially if U have their card xfer the balance to a card where U have a rate < 8%, then cut it up into 1000's pieces and return it to them O and by the way be sure to close your account. yes I am pissed lol |

| "Don't get this card!!" |
| I've been an L.L. Bean card holder for many years and did switch to the Barcleys LL.Bean card...what a disappointment...A mix-up with statements caused me to have one payment sent in a few days late and WHAM!! they sky-rocket the interest rate. Not worth the hassle of the card, you either accept it or cancel it...so I no longer have this card....don't even bother. |

| "Shame on LL Bean" |
| Like the rest of the comments...I have been an LL Bean card holder for many years. We recently switched to Barclays Bean and it is as terrible as their customer service is. I was one day late on one payment and the rate skyrocketed. They would not even consider lowering the rate back....I don't need the free shipping that badly. I cancelled too. |

| "What a Ripoff!" |
| I had the old LL Bean Visa for years, and applied for the new one with Barclay''s when they switched from BofA. I specifically requested paper statements. I received NO statements, and when I called to clear this up I was told that statements had been emailed to me - which they hadn''t (and were not in my spam folder). I was also told that the "fees would never be waived" because they expect you to pay your bill regardless. So you are supposed to pay a bill that you have not received - that is ridiculous. When I asked to speak with a supervisor, I was told I could write a letter to the CEO of Barclay''s. Obviously customer service is a joke to this company. And when I tried to talk to someone at LL Bean about these problems, I was told that they have nothing to do with Barclay''s and their billing problems. So after over 20 years as a Bean customer, I will be cancelling my card and not buying anything from this store ever again. I think it''s pretty sad that Bean has become so impersonal that they could care less about all these customer complaints. |

| "Beware the Email statements!" |
If you sign up for this card with "paperless statements", you''ll get them via email. But they''ll probably go to your spam/junk mail box! If you don''t see the statement in time, you''ll be hit with late fees and interest. And, according to a supervisor at Barclay''s, there''s no way to change from paperless (email) statements to paper-based statements.
Fortunately, after several calls, Barclays did waive the late fees and interest charges because I had not received their statements. |

| "Disappointed with LL Bean's new credit card" |
I first applied for the LL bean/BOA card because I thought the APR was reasonable and since I purchase frequently from LL Bean I thought the coupon points were great. I didn't even realize the card came with free shipping when I first applied.
The new card has a terribly high APR and penalties which automatically make me not want to apply. Although I love LL Bean I won't apply for the new Barclays card and I'm sure I will purchase less frequently now that I'll be paying for shipping and not earning points. I've always felt the LL Bean customer service was the best, but this new card is a disservice to all of their loyal customers. |

| I am so disappointed in the new Barclays LL Bean Card. My interest rate DOUBLED from B of A to Barclays. I couldnt believe it, so I immediately called Barclays to see if they could lower the rate. Nope, no way. They wouldn't do a thing. So my B of A card is still active at 7.9% and my new LLBean Barclays card has been canceled at 15.74! I'm really disappointed in LLBean for making this switch and sadly they've lost a loyal customer. I purchase from LL Bean 2 to 3 times a month, consistently.... |

| "Problems receiving statements" |
I had this card for less than a year and twice I didn't receive statements, and ended up paying 15$ fee + interests the first time. I caught it on time the second time. The first time I was ready to believe that I forgot about the statement or my wife lost it or something else. Not the second time, though.
I read the comments about MBNA sending the statements lates. Did it happen to anyone else to not receive it? |
