| "Never had such a bad experience" |
| Got the Lowe's credit card and bought a hot water heater and toilet. When I made my payment for the full balance there was an "issue" with my account #. This is odd since you have to input your # twice and it has to match. They didn't inform me of the issue for a month. I made another payment which got kicked back again (odd that I would imput my account number 4 times exactly the same way but incorrect). They reported me to the credit bureau and will NOT rectify the situation. Super Sleazy! Further more, there is no complaint line. Only a P.O. Box! |

| "Cancel your Lowe's card" |
| I just cancelled my card. I refuse to do business with an arrogant corrupt company like this. They can take their card an shove it. I will shope at Home Depot or Menard's. Lowe's SUCKS |

| They don't say you have to spend 299.00 to get the 5% off. I cancled my order and put it on my other credit card that DOES give me 5% off |

| We had this card for years and never had issues. Then as of recent, they started raising interst rates way out of line with other credit card companies. I spoke to Lowes and was told to call GE and have them lower the rate. When calling the customer service personnel had poor customer etiquette. We will no longer go to Lowes |

| "Security Charges" |
| Sneaky. Looking at bill realized have thi security put on account. Sure its OUR fault for being either gullible or too trustworthy when getting the card. Noticed our account wasnt goig down but like 20 bucks with a $50 payment. So anyhow noticed this "Security Charge". Charged us 16.78 this month. Come to find out been paying it all along. But it not being my card ( is hubbys ) I just pay what he tells me to til now. MERCY the money just GIVEN away... people will never get out of debt givig money away like this. Best Buy and Orchard have something similar so beware. |

| "Applying Late Fees BEFORE the payment due date." |
| Payment due on 6/19/2010. On 6/16/2010, I go online and queue up my payment for the due date as I've done for over 2 years. Today, I checked my balance for I was declined a purchase at Lowe's this morning even though this purchase was below my available balance which didn't include the 6/19 payment queued up. See a Late Fee for $30 posted on 6/19/2010. Called Customer Service. Lady said a that since my payment due date is on a Saturday and if they haven't received the payment BEFORE Saturday, they post a Late Fee Friday night. The Late Fee will be reversed once a payment is made on Saturday. I told her that this wasn't right to access a Late Fee BEFORE the due date. She said that's just they way their system works. Told her in this day of 24x7 electronic banking, there is no reason for Lowe's to have this practice. |

| "lowes card" |
| bought mower and weedwacker for $367. set up payments for $50 every two weeks. logged on a week later, they told me my account # on my checking account was wrong, i changed it, they removed $29 check fee but not $30 late fee. 2 payments went through and then on the third one they said my account number was wrong,hit me with another $29. i called again and said to close account and i will pay it off. the lady told me she would remove $29 fee and close account. just logged back on and my balance is now $29. i now have to call again, this is the biggest joke of a company i have ever seen. |

I have been reading these reviews and am surprised by some of what I am seeing. Just to set some things straight...
On Lowes Visa Accounts all of the APRs have gone up since the credit crunch. I was notified of it and given the opportunity to opt out 90 days before it went into effect. It is all there if you read your statements. In BOLD print, it says "Please see the enclosed change in terms." It's very hard to miss.
On the Lowes Consumer Card, there is no grace period for payments. Just like on my other cards. If it's late, you get a late fee. Plain and simple. Also, the due date change that went into effect several months ago was due to the credit card act that flew through Congress. They determined how many days there have to be in a billing cycle. Lowes HAS to comply with the law. Again, I was notified that my date would be changing 90 days before it happened.
If you READ YOUR STATEMENTS you can't miss this stuff. It's not anyone else's fault that you are complacent with your credit.
Also, if you were just approved for a mortgage or a brand new car...it affects your credit score and availability. So that could actually cause you to NOT be approved for something small like a Lowes card. There is only so much available credit you are entitled to. If you use it all up on a home loan...well I'm sure you get it.
Basically I am tired of everyone blaming their credit woes on others. It's your fault. |

| "Stupid" |
| My credit application was denied but no one can tell me why. Funny how my credit is good enough to finance a mortgage and my credit rating is over 700 but I can't get credit from GE Credit for Lowes. They take millions of bailout money from the gov and now consumers are being ripped off. Don't bother with Lowes, go to Home Depot to shop. Their prices are better and credit is much easier ! |
