"STAY AWAY FROM MBNA"
I have never had to deal with a worse credit card company they deserve to go out of business.
I have spent countless hours trying to get a summary of how to use my rewards and even the customer service people do not know how to direct me to the web site. I am on the verge of just walking away from my rewards, which I believe is their business plan - frustrate the customers who then walk a way and they do not have to honor their rewards |

Most attractive feature: NONE
Least attractive feature: Trying to use the rewards is a nightmare. Customer service is clueless

"Not worth the hassle.... too many other good cards"
Restrictions make it almost IMPOSSIBLE for you to pick your own flights. They now charge huge fees in addition to the points (I was just charged $55.00 per ticket for a "security fee" for an Eastern Zone ticket to Florida!!!) Almost cheaper just to BUY the tickets on JET BLUE!!

Most attractive feature: low point requirement for zoned tickets
Least attractive feature: only 1pt per $3 if no balance carried forward

"MBNA TravelMax is the Worst Credit Card"
The MBNA Travel Max credit card is the worst credit card that I have ever owned. I am a military member serving all over the world and am not currently residing in Hawaii. I tried to call travelmax to reserve a flight from Honolulu to Los Angeles and the first time I was on hold for 30 min with no response. The second time I was told that I cannot make a reservation from Honolulu to Los Angeles. Only car rentals and hotels can be made in the 50 states though flights need to originate in the 48 contiguous states. Also, the travelmax agent did help me by informing me I can get credit from the points by making a reservation then cancelling the reservation if the hotel has a refundable cancellation policy. Hope this helps everyone else in not getting a Travel Max credit card or a credit card with MBNA. Instead get one through a credit union.

"Not the Best"
I have had this card for quite a while, I didn't use it much at first so I didn't notice minor fluctuations in point totals. I accumulated about 16,000 points over a two year period and was just about ready to decide to use them. My statement came and 6,000 points had been deleated. I called and they informed me that points only last two years - "that's tough luck", they said, "Read your card agreement". I've cancelled this card.

"Another "small print" bank"
Started to obtain as a result of earlier rating without actually reading the reviews. MISTAKE and should know better. Chase has much better rewards program for 'flying' and charge no fees for Platinum.

Most attractive feature: Easy to obtain
Least attractive feature: Gimmick. Force balance before benfits. Only one for three if no balance.

"MBNA Travel Max"
This is the best credit card I've ever had. You pay no annual fee yet get all the travel miles and benefits of a comparable airline card. They have a travel services number that will book everything for you. THe only problem is that it takes about 12,000 miles to get a flight, but you only get 1 mile per $3 charged if you don't carry a balance.

Most attractive feature: No annual fee, travel miles with assistance from travel services for booking flights, etc.
Least attractive feature: You only get 1 mile for every $3 spent if you don't carry a balance

"travel agent"
Though you can book the flight yourself, I used their travel agent and had an excellent experience.
We've redeemed two airlines tickets from just using our VISA like usual |

Most attractive feature: You earn points for each dollar spent to be used for any airline ticket
Least attractive feature: None that I know of
