Good cause, no hassle

11/02/2004
This is the easiest way to contribute to the NRA. The best feature is that I can ignore any appeals to contribute to the NRA without any guilt, because I know I am supporting them with every purchase. As I pay off my balances every month, ususally online, the interest rate is of no concern. I have never had a reason to deal with the the present credit card company, so my real rating on customer service is 'unknown'. And yes, I do chuckle when I hand this to someone, I 've only had 3 or 4 people comment on it - and none were negative! Of course, this is Texas!

Bad Card

06/30/2004
I had this problem in the past, but was told the problem was fixed. For the 2nd time, I had an on-line purchase declined for no reason. I was contacted the first time and got an appology. No reason or contact the last time. Thank goodness I have an American Express Corporate card that has never let me down. Jim

Support the NRA with your purchases using this card!

This card is now held by First National Bank Omaha. Under Fleet, I did not have any problems, but then I never called them. I have not had any problems with First National either. For 11 out of 12 months a year, I pay off the balance each month, and online. I find it very easy to pay the bill directly from my checking account. My wife and I have been using this card since 1997 on about everything we can to help support the NRA. The interest rate is about 16 percent, so I rarely put anything on it that I cannot pay off right away. Regarding the complaint above about not getting something, that's not what it means for my wife and I to be members. We are members to support the cause. The NRA is not there to give us free hats, pens, etc., but instead the strength of men and women coming together to protect our Constitutional (and God given) right to bear arms. Plus I love handing the NRA Visa when I'm paying. (grin) Support the NRA with your purchases using this card!

i am an avid gun lover and decided several years ago to join the nra. at the time they were advertising the hunters bible as a free gift which i never recieved. i eventually let my membership lapse and moved on. later i saw this deal where they were offering something else (cant remember waht it was)as an incentive for renewing membership. so i did...never recieved anything AGAIN. after numerous calls i still have never recieved anything but a newsletter and a bill for my dues. the credit card charges a higher interest rate than others that are equivalent. and its a pain anytime you try to get ahold of anyone from either the nra or the cc company. i will definitely be switching to another card.
Most Attractive Feature: no annual fee

NRA Platinum Master Card by FLEET

12/20/2002
Their web site has been broken for over 2 billing cycles now and does not accept my payments through their "easypay" system. As a result there is over 2 months of charges showing. They also state it may take up to 10 days to record a purchase. While it usually doesn't take that long, some competitive cards update in 24 hours. I have made numerous calls to so-called "customer service" and have basically been told, "Your balances are correct and that is why we send out the MONTHLY hard copy." Come on people, this is the computer age! As far as I can determine, their on-line system is very low on their priority list. I am changing to a different credit card company.

Dispute resolution

04/15/2002
My credit card was charged by a manufacture even though I had cancelled the order and when it arrived I did not accept delivery. Essentially I was wrongfully charged for an order. Fleet (which handles the NRA card) refused to help in anyway. The manufacturing company eventually returned all of my money but it took nearly 3 months. Although the amount was in dispute, the only way I could avoid interest charges was to pay off the entire disputed amount. The interest rate is very high compared to other cards.

I have no complaints with this credit card. I have not experienced anything negative with the company. The one time I called, I was able to get someone without waiting. I send in my payment 7 days before the due date and have never had a late fee. I also do not get any crap in the mail for special offers nor do I get telemarketers from the cc company calling me trying to sell me stuff.
Most Attractive Feature: NRA Logo on credit card. Helpful customer reps.
