"One of the best cards available in Canada"
I&#'ve had my National Bank of Canada Ovation Gold Mastercard for several years now and it is my main card.

The minimum credit limit is $5000 and can increase quickly for people with good credit. This is a real "gold" credit card, unlike some from less reputable issuers who offer so-called gold credit cards with a $500 credit limit.

There is a full range of benefits. The rewards program lets you accumulate points that can be exchanged for top quality merchandise from the Ovation catalog, for travel services or for gift certificates from The Bay, Famous Players, Birks, Chez Cora and others. You can earn triple the points on travel services by booking with Ovation. There is a host of other small benefits too.

The annual fee is pretty high at $80 but it is offset by the excellent rewards program.
 
Most attractive feature: Excellent benefits, high credit limit, serious issuer
Least attractive feature: Dealing with bank is difficult because of complex internal structure.
