| "Middle of the road card." |
| This isn't my best credit card but it's certainly not my worst either, They did credit me 5 dollars on my 1st purchase. To tell the truth i've never needed to call their customer service as i just make sure i pay at least the minimum due on my bill through my Bank's website within 7 days and i never had any problems with it. I know from experience that it takes 5-7 days for the electronic payment to happen so i don't wait until the last minute. Instead of setting the date for the date it's due i just use my Bank's earliest default date which is usually sooner than the due date just to make sure it arrives on time. I certainly never give out any of my card numbers to individuals i don't know on Ebay, if they don't take regular Paypal then i don't do business with them. If in the future i have any problems with this card i'll come back with a more negative updated opinion of it but until that happens if ever, i will recommend this card for people with middle of the road credit. |

| Most attractive feature: I like the way PayPal online acct is set up and its options such as the credit report. |
| Least attractive feature: Wish the Limit were higher but then again i haven't had the card that long. |

| "Watch Out For Hidden Fees. Can you say BIG MONEY?" |
When I went to the web site recently to make my payment online, it was due that day. I had to key in that days' date. Because I did not schedule it ahead of time, I was charged a fifteen dollar fee. They actually penalized me by paying my bill on its due date. Imagine that. But it doesn't stop there. Because I was near my limit, this extra charge put me OVER my limit by less than five dollars, and so they helped themselves to another 37.00 for being over my limit because their extra fee... not my usage.
Today I cut it up and threw it away. I will not be using it again. It isn't my only card, but to say the least, it's my least favorite one.

| "great card" |
| I liked how they gave 0%APR for the first 6 months and no interest on balance transfers (paypal platinum card). They also give me my credit score every month and give me a breakdown of how I spend my money. Emails to customer service are all answered within 24 hours, somethings in an hour. I don't know why people are having all these problems. Maybe because I pay my whole balance and only use email not phone to reach customer service. If you're like me, the card is excellent. |

| "FRAUD DEPARTMENT -- WHAT A JOKE!" |
In Oct. my card was used without my authorization by someone I had bought something from on eBay.
I filed a police report and sent all the required paperwork (and more) to providian.
They opened a fraud claim and began their "investigation."
A month later providian sent me a letter saying they were not able to accept my claim of fraud because "the merchandise was delivered to my home."
I called and called and called and sat through their eternal telephone maze from hell.
After finally getting through to a real human I explained what had happened and was transfered and transfered ad naueum from one idiot to another. I had to explain my story at least 15 times on several different occasions before customer service agents would let me talk to an actual human in the fraud department.
Debra, the "investigator" who handled my case told me yes, my fraud claim was denied.
To make a LONG story short, she never called the police department. I know because I talked to the police chief.
What a joke. I told Debra that I was sick of calling them, sitting on hold and talking to morons and that I'd eat the d*** $104.00. I told her that the caliber of her fraud "investigation" was awful and that I'd find a new credit card company.
If you like sitting on the phone listening to elevator music and talking to jerks, providian is your credit card company.

Applied for card. Issuing bank (via Pay Pal)
said could not supply answer at this time.
Never heard back from them. They have my credit
info, I have nothing! It appears risky to give this outfit credit info as you don't know what
they are doing with it. EBay uses this as wedge
so you can continue to bid on eBay as they don't
let you use another card no matter what credit
limit is. EBay sets limit, not issuing bank!! |

| I called to make a payment and they said I didnt have an account with them. This after four days prior calling me and asking me to pay over the telephone. I never even received a bill. |

| "CUSTOMER SERVICE" |
| IVE SELDOM IF EVER ASK FOR A REFUND ON A LATE CHARGE FEE. ALL OF MY PRIOR CARDS HAVE HAD A POLICY OF "ONE" GRACE REFUND PER CUSTOMER. IVE USED SAME I THINK TWICE IN MY LIFE OVER A PERIOD OF 20 YEARS. ON THIS OCCASION, MY MONTHLY PAYMENT ARRIVED 8 DAYS LATE SO I REQUESTED A LATE PAYMENT REFUND ON THIS CARD AND THEY TREATED ME LIKE SOME BUMB OFF THE STREET. I WAS TOLD MY ACCOUNT DIDNT QUALIFY,(WHAT EVER THAT MEANT). I GOT SO MAD I CANCELLED MY ACCOUNT. I WAS ALSO TOLD THAT IF I CANCELLED MY ACCOUNT I WOULD STILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR BOGUS CHARGES THAT I KEPT GETTING THAT WERE CHARGED TO THIS ACCOUNT EVEN THOUGH THE ACCOUNT WAS CANCELLED. THE WOMEN I TALKED TO SAID ID BE RESPONSIBLE FOREVER! LOL. (WHAT KIND OF PEOPLE DO THEY EMPLOY)? IM JUST GLAD IM FINALLY OUT OF THIS FIASCO. |

| "Worst credit card experience I have ever had." |
| Continuous voice mail loop when you try to get through. Done so you cannot speak to an actual person. They changed the terms and conditions of the card in the first 20 days while I was still using it but didn't notify me till 45 days later. Also extremely excessive fees. In 40 years of using credit cards I have never had such a bad experience as I have had with this one. Needless to say I have cancelled it. You should do the same!!!!!!!!!! |
