"Sold to another company"
They sold my account to another company without informing me. Took months to try and find out what was going on no one their spoke English. FINALLY found out how much I owed after HIGH FEES added and 29.99% interest and paid them off glad to be rid of them.

"Arbitrary Rate Bumping"
If a credit card issuer can bump an interest rate for certain 'infractions', ie, late payment, over-limit incidence, etc...There should be an overall status review required wherein the frequency of the violations are reviewed. PayPal Platinum has no such provision and due to one small slip on my part, my % rate went from 9.9% to 24.9% even though I never max my limit and pay in excess of half of the balance due each month, the past four years!

Folks that have to settle for crap credit cards due to old Bankruptcies are already paying more % than they should have to after reestablishing good credit.

Providian is arbitrary,insensitive and unresponsive.

"No promised 0% APR wire thransfer the hard way"
This is the letter I sent to Providian:

Dear Sir or Madam:
This letter is in reference to my Visa PayPal card account ending in 3713 and charges posted to my account.
I am extremely disappointed in the service I have received from your company. When I responded to your offer for new card I called and asked a representative if thy can extend 0% interest rate towards balance transfer, and thy said thy could. When I received a bill I realized that balance transfer is not under 0% interest rate. I called to rectify this but I was told by representative that thy couldn’t remove APR rate on balance transfer so I asked to speak to supervisor. After 7 days, 3 phone calls and 3 promises that supervisor will call me back no one did so.
Since arrangement was not what I was promised I asked to close the account, the representative informed me of my balance for which I sent a check the same day. A month after I receive yet another bill for finance charges for which I went to your website and paid it there. It was only when I made a payment that I realized that you are charging me another $12.95 just for making the payment. I called a representative asking them to remove this charge, and she told me that she is unable to remove the charge because it hasn’t posted to my account, but if I call when it does thy can remove that charge. I asked again to speak to Supervisor and left my phone number. This was a month ago and nevertheless nobody call me as yet.
When I got the bill for $12.95 so I called customer service so that thy can remove the charge just for them to inform me that thy can’t do that. So thy took yet another phone message. 5 days later nobody has called yet.
I guess it is too much to expect a phone call when you could not:
- Honor 0% interest on balance transfer
- Return any of the 5 phone calls dating up to 3 month back
- Close my account
- Remove charges for interest payment.
Please note that I have no intentions of paying $12.95, so please close my account
