"I thought I had a deal."
I applied for this card thinking that I would get 10% credit for the first $500 purchased, then customer service said I didn't apply correctly for the card so it wasn't honored. I kept the card and used it for the standard rebate, but now they closed my account for no reason. I'm having trouble understanding what kind of business they are running where you close your doors to paying customers.

"Citi-Bank Union 76 credit rejected"
Imagine my surprise when my 1st attempt to secure this card was rejected with a note that my FICA score was in the high 800s but the information could not be verified. Say what? Thinking this was some error I reapplied. Now there is a request for my tax returns. Can you believe this? This Company is a nervous breakdown!

"From riches to rags"
For decades Union 76 was the best in credit card service. Then everything changed virtually overnight. Customer service is absent, card never works, etc.
After 20 years of paying on time, my credit limit is now $20.
Good Riddance! |

"Not the old Union 76 anymore"
I was a Union 76 cardholder for 40 years. Then all the compnay financial manuevering of credit cards began. Now it is a Citi bank related card, and the service is terrible. I can't even get a useful website because they have so many different ones. My bill is paperless, but now my ID and Pass don't work. The helpline was not a solution. The new card has a very small credit line. The management should get their pay cut by 50% every year. I am not going to use this card anymore.

Most attractive feature: used to be Union 76
Least attractive feature: can't get the online to work correctly and help was terrible.

"Poor customer service - Charged a fee for everything"
This card is most worthless. It has a low credit limit and I was told that it could not be raised due to my prior holdings of $10000 credit limit cards. Even though we never used them and never had a balence, they counted against us and our total credit liability, according to the supervisor at CITI. I am waiting to use my final rebate for gas and to get a refund on my card from a company and then my account will be closed. I will no longer be dinged for late fees when you mail them out the day you get them.

Most attractive feature: Rebate is the best feature, but then again you pay the highest price for your gas.
Least attractive feature: Terrible customer service and inability to raise credit limit.

"TERRIBLE GASOLINE CARD"
I HAVE BEEN A UNION 76 CARDHOLDER SINCE 1981. NO PROBLEMS FOR ALL THESE YEARS. THEN CITIBAMK TOOK OVER. DROPPED MY LIMIT VERY LOW TO PUT ME ON TRIAL FOR A FEW YEARS. REQUESTS FOR LIMIT INCREASES WERE NEVER ANSWERED. LATELY HAD TO REPEATEDLY GO INSIDE THE GAS STATION TO HAVE MY CARD REVIEWED FOR SECURITY PURPOSES.
FINALLY, LAST MONTHS' BILL SHOWED A $29.99 DOLLAR LATE CHARGE FOR ONE DAY PAST THE BILLING DATE FOR PROCESSING. THIS IS THE LAST STRAW.
WILL NEVER BUY UNION 76 AGAIN. CLOSED THE ACCOUNT TODAY. |

"Great for those who frequent Phillips 66, Conoco, Union 76 Stations"
I was lured to the card in May 04 with a $20 one time fuel rebate. Since I am surrounded by Phillips 66 stations and frequent them, I figured why not receive a rebate too.
The rebates go into my account smoothly. They are credited to the next month's billing statement. For instance if you buy $100 worth of gas through the end of January, the $3 rebate from January will be applied to the balance at the end of February.
Citibank did not give me the promised $20 rebate at first. However they corrected it immeaditely after I wrote them.
Overall, it's excellent if you frequent the ConocoPhillips family of stations. I would highly reccomend this over the standard (in house) Phillips Conoco Union 76 credit cards if you plan on carrying a balance.

"Stolen informaton"
Besides losing track of rebates owed to the customer- information is easily stolen if the card is used in online purchases. Online purchases were made by two different thieves before Citiback thought it was a wise idea to close out the account. Citibank did, though, make reparations for the purchases.

Most attractive feature: The 3 % gasoline rebate -- if Citibank keeps an accurate rebate record.
Least attractive feature: Citibank is inaccurate about keeping track of rebates owed to the customer.

"My gas card"
I am buyng Unocal and Union 76 regularly for about 20 years. Had no problem until the card was issued by Citybank apparently, though it is almost impossible to find out how they handle these financial tricks.
I am paying my gas bill monthly in full , for an average of $300/mth now with these gas prices.
It is a fact though that my card was rejected for over the credit limit charge !!! I have an excelent credit rating and credits in 6 digits value.
Asked for credit increase to $1,000 and they cannot solve it yet!!!
Miserable service; you should send some managers to play golf better than sabotaging the bussines. |

Most attractive feature: Many gas stations in S. California
Least attractive feature: Credit handling by Citybank or who's the new financial baker of 76 gas cards
