"The Travel Rewards Program is the Best of all Credit Cards"
I have had 2 Quicken Cards since the mid 90's. (used to be through Travelers and now Citibank). The Rewards program is unparralled as far as flexability and ability to earn usable travel rewards quickly. The review above about the limits, need to fly flights with multiple changeovers etc... just isn't reality if you use it correctly. I charge as much as I can, (usually large work items) on the card. After only $8000 charged you receive $100 voucher for travel on any airline. $16000 is a $200 voucher. The great thing is you can use this on ANY airline. Since most domestic travel now-a-days is less than $400 round trip, you aren't subject to any of the restrictions. I usually go to expedia.com, find the exact flight and fare I want. Then call travelermiles to book my flight. Say the fare is 180 for a flight from Baltimore to Dallas; I then use the 200 in vouchers, pay $15 to book it and nothing else. If the fare is $225 I use the $200 in vouchers, pay the $25 that is over $200 and the $15 booking fee. I have save significant money in travel over the years using this program!

"Air Travel Redemption is Fine"
Steve's experience in redeeming miles for air travel doesn't mirror my own. I've always been able to redeem miles for any flight I've wanted through the required travel agency and have always been quoted the same best price that I found on the Web. I think the mile redemption program works exactly as advertised, which is great.

"Travel "service" is only through cheapest, worst, longest route!"
Air miles? Here is what you get:
Go to Orbitz, plan your trip, sort by lowest price. See there at top? The cheapest ticket--the one on Podunk Air that routes you through at least one hub and includes a three hour layover? THAT is the ticket you will get. No others. You can't even pay more for a direct flight. AND you MUST have a Saturday stay.
Okay, you can also get discounts on full fare tickets. 8000 miles per $100 of discount, up to $400 on a full fare ticket. 32,000 for a $400 discount. On a full fare ticket.
Redeption must take place through this third party travel service and can only be via the LOWEST PUBLISHED FARE (that Podunk multiple connections trip I talked about above). This almost certainly guarantees that you will have multiple stops and--don't forget--also requires a Saturday night stay.
We thought we would be smart, use the card, and get free miles for travel. But not like this. Not with a six year old in tow!
More good news? Have fun tracking down the 800 number to redeem your miles. It doesn't appear ANYWHERE. I was looking for over 1/2 an hour and talked to both Quicken and MasterCard (you can't actually talk to a real human on the CITIBank "customer service" number), before I found it buried on the TravelerMiles.com site under Terms & Conditions. Hmmm. Cheapest possible fare AND they make it hard to book.
That's it. Nothing else. You can't transfer miles to another frequent flyer service (like NWA's) and no going home Saturday. OH--and you pay a much higher interest rate and $40 per year. For this?
I will pay off my balance "Quick" an' get the hell out of this card as soon as I can.
You have been warned! |

"Why I no longer have this card"
I have lots of credit cards and like most of them.I have one less as of yesterday.Quicken mastercard. The first straw was that I recieved a letter telling me that they had reduced my credit limit. This is a card that i pay off completely each month ON TIME!This caused some charges to be declined.Next i recieved a letter telling me that they had forgotten to charge me for Credit protector, a service i had never ordered, and would begin charging next month. When i called to say that I didnt want the service, the bank said i had to call the service direct (of course they are only open normal business hours.)I cancelled the card

"Love this card"
I've been using this card for 6 years and am a giant fan. The download to quicken makes accounting / taxes easy. Getting the statements in real time means you can check balances and whether merchants have debted/credited correctly. Also, having all the data in quicken means you can get insightful reports on your expenses.

"Never again!"
We were excited to have a company credit card with the benefits offered by the Quicken card. Everything was fine with this card during the introductory period. However, the ability to properly credit payments, and quality of customer service went straight downhill thereafter. We have five cards for employees, and each month include the five payment stubs indicating how much of the payment is intended for each account. Regularly the payment was credited randomly to only one account, and the others assigned a past due fee. I would call to have it rectified, but they never could get it right. Customer service said it was not their fault, and I should send five separate checks in five separate envelopes if I was going to be so picky about how the payment was applied. I have never had this problem with any other card. Eventually, the customer service reps refused to speak to me, because I am not the guarantor on the main account, and for this reason would not let me talk to a supervisor. I would never again have a Citibank card!

"Citibank of S. Dakota apparently bought this credit card company."
I have had a Quicken credit card for as long as they have existed. I have a 30,000 limit and pay the full amount of charges on time every month. The people in customer service are very rude. The new owners sent an amendment to the credit card agreement that is so one sided and onerous that it seems as if they are challenging their customers to reject the terms.

"Great Card"
Citibank's master card is excellent. It's accepted anywhere and their customer service is second to none. I've had their card for 12 years and when I had a problem with a merchant a couple of years ago, they fixed it with one call. They keep me informed of changes and are very good with increasing credit, when needed. An excellent company,an excellent card!
