| "Great if you know how to use it." |
| It's now 2006. Transactions and payments post quickly online. Payments can be made the same day online. Great looking Subaru card! Great benefits at 3%! No charge for paying online! Prompt Subaru Bucks with every statment earned. Customer service is great and lets me change the type of card I use at a whim. Very fast shipment of any new cards. |

| "Chase card" |
| Customer service calls go to Pakistan and their English is poor. They also are confused about what they are doing. When I requesed my card be canceled a year ago, it was not done. Instead my card was passed out and now I am dealing with fraud. |

| "Not a bad deal if you are a Subaru owner/potential owner" |
I have had my Subaru card for a little over a year now, and I have been fairly happy with it. I have no complaints, other than the fact that it takes them a couple days to process an electronic payment. What is the delay? It should happen instantly. My Discover card does not have a delay, even if I submit the payment on a weekend. I have never had to pay a fee for paying my credit card bill online like someone else mentioned. I think it's a good card, as long as you are good about paying your balance every month, and send it a few days early. You can also schedule electronic payments to occur in the future, which helps get around the processing delay. That is something that my Discover card will not let me do.
I have never had to call for customer service, so I can't really comment on that.
I use the card, they send me my rewards, and I have saved lots of money so far on parts for my Subaru. I get exactly what I want out of it. |

| "Happy with card & rewards - not necessarily Chase" |
I've had my card for almost 2 years and am VERY pleased with it so far. I am fortunate that I've been able to pay off everything each bill so I have yet to pay interest but I've been reapping the rewards.
For example, my 15,000 mile service on my legacy started off at $320 base price. Because I had a 10% off card for my dealership, didn't need an alignment and had 2 subarubucks certificates I wound up with a $43 bill.
I am disappointed that they do charge you to pay your bill online. Also that they have unreasonable balance transfer fees. I know I'm not gonna get rewards on the balance transfers but if I was going to pay Chase interest instead of someone else, you'd think they'd be happy. oh well. Also, lost/stolen certificates are not replacable.
I figured I'll use my card each year up to the point where I can't get anymore certificates (hitting that this year with buying a house) and then switch over to my other card to get those rewards. As long as I can pay this one off each month, I'll keep using it and keep racking up the Subie-Bucks. |

| "tiresome to have to nag them" |
Chase has been good about sending the $100 certificates automatically -- but I had to write two letters and make NINE phone calls to get the promo $25 certificate for opening the account. The voice-mail system is a byzantine nightmare, and I strongly suspect that I get connected to somewhere in India when I call.
The person who commented above about needing LOTS of time to process your check was dead-on ... and God help you if you have to deal with anyone there about service charges or disputed transactions.
Take this card if you want the SubaruBucks for a good reason -- but ONLY if you're sufficiently anal-retentive to pay your bills eight days before they're due, and pay-in-full ... |

| "The worst credit card I have ever had. Stay far, far away from Chase." |
We got an offer for this card shortly after purchasing our Subaru Outback (which we love). We thought that the 3% reward was outstanding and decided to apply. We are the kind of people who never carry a balance and always pay on time (and we spend anywhere from $2000 to $4000 a month on credit cards, so we really reap the benefits of these types of cards). Apparently, Chase does not appreciate customers with good credit who pay on time. Our first problem was with the Subaru Bucks rewards. We were promised $25 in Subaru Bucks just for applying for the card. We have called three times to find out why we haven't seen the $25 in our reward statement and every time we are told "it will appear in the next statement." We still haven't gotten the rewards and we aren't holding our breath. Our next problem came with our bill this month. Chase claims that our payment was late. I went back and checked all of our bank records and found that my bank made an electronic payment to Chase on the 10th of the month, while Chase did not credit this payment until the 15th of the month, which made the payment late. Considering the fact that this payment was electronic (no paper checks involved) and the money left my bank on the 10th, I wanted to know where the money was for 5 days. Well, apparently Chase reserves the right to "hold electronic payments for up to five business days" (which seems ridiculous because it was an electronic transfer of money--not like a check could bounce!!). The five business days allowed them to make my payment late and charge me $29 late fee and over $20 in finance charges. I tried to talk to customer service about this in a very cordial manner, but they were rude to me in return. My husband got upset and took the phone to tell them that if they did not at least explain to us satisfactorily how our payment came to be delayed by five days that we would take our business elsewhere. The CS rep told him "Do what you have to do." He asked if Chase valued our business and she replied, "Not really."
After hanging up with them, I went through some (very) old records and found that I had a credit card with Chase almomst a decade ago. I then recalled why I cancelled it. I moved and had to call them at least three times to get them to change my address. They kept saying that they were changing my address in the system, then they would send my bill to my old address, I wouldn't get it, my payment would be late, I would have to fight with them about late fees, and they would tell me that I had never called to change my address. After three rounds of this I realized that they are scam artists of the worst kind. (I was young and naive at the time. As an older curmedgeon now, I only need to get screwed once.) Needless to say I cancelled that card immediately and we plan to do the same with this one as soon as we use our Subaru Bucks. |

| "Used for Downpayment" |
As soon as I knew that a Subaru would be necessary for my family, i ordered this card. Over a period of 24 months, I accumulated enough points to make the downpayment on our new car with minimum out of pocket -just like cash after I negotiated my best deal with the dealer. The APR is a bit steep though.
If you are good at paying off your cards every month and know for sure that you want a new Subaru. Get this card. Otherwise, there are other better choices out there that offer cash back.
I think that the benefits have gone down over time. This was a couple of years ago when you could really rack up points. Now I think that it is a bit limited. If it weren't for this "Subaru-Cash" feature, I wouldn't have used it. I have other cards with APR at half of the currrent Subaru rate. |
