"Suntrust needs to go under"
I started banking with Suntrust when it was Third National Bank in 1974. I was one of the first people to open an account in my town when they opened a new branch there. In the past thirty five years, I have experienced rudeness from these people and downright insults. The last time was when I went Monday to make a deposit to pay my credit card off. After being told by the teller that I can close my account If I would like, I went to the officer, who at first seemed to be on my side, but after I made the deposit, he had me do the transfer at the same tellers cube from my account to the credit card. This was an insult because the reason I made the deposit was to do a transfer electonically so it would clear out the next day. That was on Monday, and here it is Thursday and the funds still have not been transferred to pay off the credit card. Other people have gone to jail for using someone's money like this for several days. They are not fooling anyone, they are making money off my interest and charging me 14% interest while they hold my money up for a week. I have never seen such dishonesty in my entire life when it comes to these people. The Bible says, " soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption" and I believe some day, they will pay for the lack of integrity they use in dealing with people.
 
Most attractive feature: There is nothing good about Suntrust.
Least attractive feature: No care for client at all. Suntrust sees people as numbers not as real people.

"worst card"
I have relationship banking with Suntrust for over 12 years including mortgage and equity line. They really do not care about relationships with customers or high credit scores. It seems to be all about fees. It took me 4 tries to get a resolution and finally had to close the account.

"Misinformation given"
After being an excellent customer, I called to see if I could keep my 9.9% APR when I was notified it would be increased to 12.99%. I was told to write a letter of rejection, rejecting the increase and I could keep the 9.9% rate. However, after reading the fine print and calling back to verify, it states you can write a letter of rejection and your APR won't be increased UNLESS YOU USE THE CARD!! If I actually use the card, the rate will be increased! I was never told this little "catch."

"Address Change Woes"
MBNA accounts are not SunTrust accounts. The cardholder should be aware of this when they move. An address change to SunTrust is not sufficient.

My problems with the SunTrust relationship occurred when I moved soon after the transition between SunTrust and MBNA. I sent an address change to SunTrust and expected that it would be sufficient for all of our SunTrust accounts. The accounts in question were not being used, thus no statements were expected.

Unauthorized charges were later made against at least one of the accounts. There were, in fact, no authorized charges. Since the address was wrong the account accumulated late fees and interest. My first notice of the problem was on a credit report. MBNA eventually took these charges off.

I was less fortunate on my other card. MBNA refused to disclose the nature of the charges, turning it over instead to collection. I never received a statement. They would not even justify the charges to the collection agency.

I think that a policy change of informing MBNA of a customer address changes would have avoided my problems entirely.

"SunTrust was watching out for me!"
Having access to my SunTrust credit card on the Internet has been lucky for me! I checked my account one day to make sure my payment had been received on time and I noticed that there was a transaction of $112 on my account that was not mine. I called customer service and got a recording saying that if there was a dispute on a charge, to fill out the back of my last bill and send it to them. I did that and checked my account several days later on the Internet to see if they had taken off the charge. I received a message saying that I could not access my account and to call customer service. I called and I found out they had closed my account because someone in California tried to cash a credit card access check on my account for $9000! The customer service representative said that they realized that that was "unusual activity" on my account and that they had also received my message about the $112 charge as well. They closed my account and sent me a new card within four days. I will always be grateful to them for stopping what could have been a nightmare and for watching out for me. This is one card I will keep as long as I live.

"apr"
This is a costly card , with a high APR due to debts on other cards and is unfair, especially when all cards get paid on time and more than the minimum due is paid.
 
Most attractive feature: 4.9 introductory apr
Least attractive feature: 22.9 apr, due to debts on other cards

"You can always trust Suntrust"
I have found that in a world of computerized business practices, that you just can&#'t beat SunTrust when it comes to quality of Customer Service. They assist you 24 hours and on many occasions through my own mistakes, found that they react quickly and solve any problems immediately.
Since I have been a cardholder of SunTrust I have the utmost confidence in using my card online or offline. It is a great relief to know as well that the bank where I do business on a weekly basis is looking out for me in the cyber world as well. They saved me once when my card number got into the wrong hands and for that I will be eternally grateful.

"Second Chance"
I have had credit trouble in the past. I applied for this card with a co-signer and was turned down. I wrote back to the company twice and was approved for $2,500.00. I am now more responsable and I am glad this company took a second look at my application.
