"Target RedCard is Impressively Horrible"
For the love of God, DO NOT GET THIS CARD! I was homeless for two months thanks to hurricane irene, and in the flood, my laptops both were destroyed (my fault for forgetting about them). They had my target account information saved, and because of this, I'd forgotten the information. I was on another computer attempting to pay my bill when I realized I didn't know the password. When I requested the password, I never received it. I called, and I got disconnected. Convenient.
I called month after month without receiving answers. They either conveniently disconnected my phone call after I questioned them about the mark, or they told me they would take care of it. But they never did. It is still on my credit report. These customer service representatives don't compare to the worst you've ever seen, I can assure you. They lie.
And to top it off, today, I received just a late fee in the mail. The $161 I owed them was paid on the DUE DATE, but I still got a late fee? I just called, and the Indian guy I could hardly understand told me the late fee was removed. However, I've been through this before as well. Chances are, another bad mark on my credit report will appear because I didn't pay the late fee they said they removed.

"Time to give my business to Walmart!!!!"
I applied for a Target card and was (immediately) approved for $600.00. I received the card in the mail and with it a statement saying that the credit line will increase after the account has been opened for 11 days. I made one $51.00 purchase. It's been three weeks and I received a letter from Target stating that they are closing my account because there have been too many inquiries on my credit report?!?!?! I don't understand how they checked my credit, approved me for a card and then cancel it based on the same credit report. My credit score, based on the three credit agencies, ranges from good to above average; and I was recently granted a mortgage loan in NY, for which my credit had to be clean and my annual income substantial. I could care less about the few hundred dollars that Target approved but feel that out of principle their actions are reprehensible and deceptive. Imagine if every time business is done somewhere you receive notification that the deal has been rescinded on a whim.

"NO CREDIT CARD IS WORTH IT"
got card because of low limit, but had unexpected illness and income cut in half. had trouble paying off.....late charges and interest continued no matter what little payment i could afford, so i had to stop paying. got harrassed and treated horribly by collections and now they are suing me for $1235 dollors on a $300 limit from 2004. Oh they will hunt you down come hell or highwater..........do i recommend them? not no but hell no........you see i didn't know what hard times would befall on me, but they sure didn't care. they wanted lump sum payment and the card, even though it was not usable, continued to grow in balance due to late charges. my advise for anyone contemplating getting this card or any credit card..............DON'T

"thin skinned need not apply"
I applied for this to get the ten percent off, and had the second slickest application I''ve run into, only outdone by Victoria''s Secret which I suspect someone has applied for without realizing it. The credit line was 300 which felt like an insult. It wasn''t too bad up against their lousy website. *or* the supervisors paid to be condescending. I forget what I called them up about but it ended with the card getting the axe over the worst customer service I''ve run into.

"Finally approved"
I decided to apply for my own account after being denied in 2004 (see my previous post T&N Bear). I was finally approved for a low $200 credit limit. Things at Target are really not that high anyway so who cares. Just glad to have my own account. I will pay on time and mostly in full. Hopefully I will see a fast increase

"Finally approved"
I applied for this account back in 2004 when my credit score was in the low 500's and was denied. I am an authorized user on my hubby's account (which was recently upgraded to the target visa) but decided I wanted my own account. I was approved for the standard $200. The limit is not a big deal. Target increased my husband's limit after 2 months. I'll make sure I use it and pay in full and hopefully I will see a fast increase. It feels good to see the words approve!

"Upgraded to Visa"
After having the card for since April of 2005 my husband has finally been upgraded to the Target Visa without him asking. The limit was increased from $500 to $1000. The interest rate on the card is high, but we will just pay the account in full or most of the balance to avoid high charges. I love target!

"Helps Build Credit"
The intrest rate will kill u if u carry a balance. They do not report credit limit to equifax and that hurts debt ratio. It does help u have a good payment history if paid on time.

"Think Red. Think REDcard."
The best card I have! I love the 10% discounts from your points you build. I also love the ability to pay your card in-store at Guest Services. Really easy to use on-line at Target.com too. Interest rate is a little high, but I pay at the store before interest is charged. Very convienent for people who love Target and shop at Target, Target Greatland, or SuperTarget frequently. If your going to spend money there anyway, why not put it on your card and get discounts for shopping. Target also has special offers ocacionally for Redcard users, for example: get extra points for purchacing certain items at specific times. Only fault is that there is not a SuperTarget store in Las Vegas, Nevada, so I can't buy my groceries with it as well, so I have to use my Debit at regular grocery stores, because I WILL NOT shop at Wal-Mart Supercenter, they are NOT "always" cheaper. Once they build a SuperTarget here, this will be the PERFECT card, with excellent guest service in-store, on-line, and on the phone! Even if you don't shop at Target often, you still get points for 10% off when you use the Target Visa elsewhere! Best card out there!!!

"Good to re-establish credit"
I have been working on rebuilding my credit for about a year now. After reading reviews of all the retail cards on this site, the Target red card seemed like the ones most likely to give me a chance. I applied online and was approved! My credit limit is only $200, but I'm happy that they were willing to give me a card. For anyone who wants some practical information, they used Equifax to run the report, and my score was 616 at the time.
