US Airways is THE WORST airline, and I've flown Aeroflot.

06/12/2011
US Airways is absolutely THE worst airline my company has ever used. An employee missed a critical meeting not so much because of a cancelled flight, but because US Airways promised to place him on a partner airline's subsequent flight, but never actually did. They led us to believe he was taken care of when they knew he was not. We could have booked a flight on Delta, we had confirmed that they had plenty of seats available, but didn't because US Airways assured us that they had done so, that he was booked on that very flight. But when it came time to check in, our employee and 20 other passengers who were told the same thing by US Airways, in fact had not been booked to the Delta flight. Ultimately, after having him spend the night at an airport hotel (at our expense), we sent him home and cancelled the meeting, affecting dozens of people's schedules and delaying one of our company's major projects. Flights get cancelled, but it was US Airways' incompetent handling of the situation and dishonest lip service that kept us from solving the problem ourselves. I won't put our company and our employees in that position again. We will not fly US Airways under any circumstance. Even if another carrier is twice the price, it will be a much greater value to us.

stay away if you value your sanity

I had some issues with this card from the getgo. Miles weren't awarded, interest charged on 0% introductory offers, etc. Using their website customer service is a joke. Responses never address the issue at hand but instead merely restated policy as seen on the back of your statement. Calling them is an even bigger joke. Most times you end up with some giggling filipina teenager who can barely speak English and has absolutely no interest in helping. Managers are never around and they won't transfer you to an American operator. Most responses are like "We are doing the process" or "Your concern is forwarded to the next level" This kind of BS. I got this card in Dec 2010 and now it is June 2011 and my issues are still unresolved. DO NOT GET THIS card. If you have it, cancel it now while you still can !
Most Attractive Feature: Miles are nice, but totally not worth the other hassles.

Stay away from it

06/02/2011
I called in to cancel the account, since I was not using the card and was not getting any benefit. The representative almost forced me not to close it. I reluctantly agreed to continue it. Soon after that I was charged for a high annual fee plus the late penalty. (Very sneaky!) I called and complained about it. But they wouldn't give me the full refund.

Stay away - Interest charges start from puchase date

04/18/2011
It was much better when they were BOFA (Visa). The new Barclays MC is horrendous! They should call it "Customer Disservice" since they are utterly useless. They have recently started charging interest even if the balance is paid in full. The promised companion vouchers do not arrive until you call and request them four times or so. STAY AWAY - BEWARE!
Most Attractive Feature: Miles, companion voucher (that you must request about 4 times before they send it to you).
Least Attractive Feature: Customer service is PATHETIC. They also charge interest even if balance is paid in full.

Service Charges

02/20/2011
They have put interest charge for balance transfer even though balance was paid off by due date. Now they are charging me a stop payment charge as I paid with 2 different checks. They posted 1 and when I did not see the second one posted I did a bank transfer and stopped payment on the check. I called them to advise and they said it would be noted. No their customer service did not tell me there would be a charge. Called them and was told whoever I talked to should have advised me of the charge. They are refusing to remove the charge.

cash advance charges when using the internet

02/10/2011
I got the USAirways card from Barclays for the miles and the zone 3 boarding. I used the card once to make a purchase on the internet. Next bill, I see a $10 charge for Cash Advance and a another $2.00 fee for minumum interests I guess. I called customer service (no less than 10 times) and explained it was an INTERNET purchase, that money didnt magically appear through my monitor. They stated since the charging company had the word 'cash' in the charge, it was considered a cash advance. I wrote and complained, and per banking procedures, the charge should have been taken off while an investigation went through. This never happened. And, 2 months after receiving my written challenge, it was denied, no reason given. This company is not professional and does NOT follow banking procedures. I will follow up with complaints with the AG of DE and banking consortium. DO NOT USE THIS CARD

Bad Service from US Airways Mastercard from Barclays

04/19/2010
If you are planning to get a new US Airways Mastercard please don’t ..... RUN AWAY FROM IT NOW!!!! I had the US Airways Bank of America Visa card since 2003 and had no problems. Since US Air has a new strategic partner Barclays they have caused nothing but pain to US Air customers. I have called Barclays countless times in the last 1 year. Every 3-4 months there is a wrong bank charge … and when I question it everytime I am told it is because of some apparent system issue and the charge is refunded right away. Todays episode was the best of all. Because of a system issue my account was put on hold and I found out when I tried to use it today. So I called them and like always they offered my their apologies and said I should not worry because this is happening because of some issue with my account but I don’t need to do anything, but they will need 24-48 hours to fix the problem. On a brighter note they were extremely sorry. They really value a premium customer. FYI – I have credit score of 785+ and have 0 outstanding balances on all of my credit cards. So its not a typical case of cancelled credit line. They were extremely sorry :-)
Most Attractive Feature: Helps collect miles

Didn't really need another card as use Am Ex and Visa, etc but was heavily promoted on my last US Air flight so decided to give it a try. 1st use of card and hit with $39 overdraft chge and fees due to the card Co. not registering an online payment in time. Called in twice to ask about removal and was told they would have to call me back in 24hrs. Never received a call back from either of my calls and that was over 2 weeks ago. Called in again this morning. Spoke to a representative and supervisor who said they could not do anything for me. I told them I have never encountered such bad customer service and the $39 charge is minimal in light of the time/energy spent trying to obtain resolution of customer service request. Going to only keep open to utilize mileage rewards promised then cancel it.
Most Attractive Feature: Air mile rewards bonus for signing up for card

I would think twice before selecting this card...

03/10/2010
I reviewed my options very carefully prior to selecting US Airways Platinum MasterCard (by Juniper Bank). I have been w/ AMEX, Discover and AT&T Universal Card for 6-12, however selected this card due to my regular travel with US Airways. In short; the miles program is not overly aggressive and does not begin to make up for the terrible customer service and faulty program advertisements. I've been polite and slow speaking, however each time I've called with simple questions I've been met with little knowledge and confusion within the customer service dept. I've even spoke with management and unfortunately found the same thing of this off-shore customer service dept. I very specifically selected this card by its benefits however it did not come with the benefits explained on-line and by customer service. When attempting to "fix" these differences I've been told the benefits are only available upon the credit departments approval and unfortunately i wasn't approved for what was advertised and it cannot be reviewed at this time. My only option is to wait 6-8 months (which i was first told 6-8 weeks) until the system automatically reviews my account. Additionally i would have to pay an increased annual fee and would need to have at least a $5,000 credit limit to receive the benefits advertised. It's worth noting my credit score is 790, i have no outstanding revolving debt and my other credit card limits are $12,000, $15,000 and $25,000. BE VERY CAREFUL if selecting this card. After you sign up the service becomes terrible when compared to any of the competitors i have mentioned above. You are stuck with either cancelling the card or using it less while still paying the annual fee despite making them money with each transaction. RTG - Phoenix, AZ
Most Attractive Feature: Miles awarded upfront and on new purchases are fair and consistent.
Least Attractive Feature: Customer Service is terrible when compared to AMEX, Discover, BofA and AT&T Universal.

US Airways Platinum Mastercard

03/17/2007
I have had this card for a year and 3 months. I am a college student who applied for this card in 7 months of having credit history (credit score of 680). I have paid this card off every month since i have had the card and have a credit limit now of 2,000 dollars. I have earned 3 award travel tickets from the miles i earned during the one year 1.5 mile for every dollar i spent. The first couple payments were delayed but by the fourth month with every payment being sucessful the wait time was extremely reduced to overnight. I have had several instances where i have went over my credit limit (ie. tuition, books, fees) that accur. Every one of my charges have been paid and the company has been understanding enough to waive the fee's. The customer service is SUPERIOR, with my Chase and Capital One i have to wait at least 15-20min, and sometimes i get disconnected. Juniper bank is there all the time, their quality of service is excellent, and 98% speak fluent english. They don't force promotions or extra insurance on you, and their services are free. The intl. travel i made to Europe over the summer was excellent, everywhere i went accepted the MasterCard. I am impressed with this card company and currently in the process of cancelling my Chase and Capital One card this week. Managing credit responsiby is the key, and this company rewards excellent credit holders. I suggest any credit seeker this card, if they are a loyal dividend mile's member of US Airways, it's unbelivable but true what this company offers it's customers. This is just a little of what this company offers it's clients. I'm a Business Major and of all other companies i find this one to be the most useful to me.

Avoid this card!

08/17/2006
After being a loyal American Express and Chase card customer, I was swayed with all of the goodies that this card had to offer. But after just two months, I had to cancel the card and go back to my old favorites. The card offered an incentive to have 0% interest for 6 months for credit balance transfers with the added incentive of additional frequent flyer points. I am a person who normally pays off my card on a monthly basis (I am a Platinum American Express holder), but I figured I would take the balance transfer offer and put that amount in an interesting bearing account and make a few cents. What I did not read in the microscopic print was that all payments made the the account were credit first to this transfer balance, leaving your other charges at the whim of their high interest rates. When I spoke to a customer service rep, she told me that I should have read the offer better (with a microscope?) and I was at fault. Needless to say I cancelled the card and am happily using my Amex once more. I am afraid that this card is a direct reflection of the new USAirways.

Great card for miles/USAir Perks

06/22/2006
I use this card for larger purchases that I payoff within a month -- this is a great way to accumulate miles. Also, I got a total of $25,000 miles with all of the sign up bonuses, 2 $99 companion tickets, etc. Not great to carry a balance, but it is easy to rack up the miles -- 45,000 in 6 months! I have had NO problems with payments clearing -- I make all of my payments online. From time to time they make take a couple of days to clear, but I don't know what card doesn't?

The customer service is very bad and there is a hold of 5 days on this card

04/23/2006
I had to cancel my card due to the pathetic customer service provided by Master Card, they do not mention anywhere on their website about a hold of 5 days on your online payments. I had made a payment of 1000 dollars which was on hold for 5 days and they had not credited my account, even though the money had left my account the same day. They did the same with another payment of my card, which put me into a position wherein they declined my card even without telling me about it.
Most Attractive Feature: You get dividend miles on US Airways
