"$99 compaion Certificates do not exist"
I have had this card for 4 years. I pay the yearly fees, because I use the card and miles for medical travel for my child. I just found out that I am supposed to be receiving yearly vouchers for $99 companion tickets. I spent a full day on the phone, trying to find out where the certificates are. Bank of America has been rude, has hung up on me numberous times, refused my requests to talk to a Supervisor. Several people continually refer me to USAIRWAYS reservations line, and even sneakily transfer me there after I make it clear that I do not want transferred there. The behavior of the bank is borderline fraudulant. USAIRWAYS has been helpful and sympathetic, and is researching an executive I can contact at Bank of America.

"award travel"
More than 20 years ago, I purchased this credit card for it's frequent flyer miles which I needed to be on USAirways. Good move. Unfortunately, I'm paying top dollar for yearly fees, even thought most of the time, the dates I want to travel are "blocked out" for award travel, even as more than a year in advance (and not during a holiday weekend; i'm talking off-peak times like october!).
For years, I paid the balance in full each month and now, I'm not able to do so for several months. Even though I've been a loyal Bank of America customer for 24 years, they will not consider offering a lower rate or other debt-consolidation plan. So I'm forced to look elsewhere for a better deal. Is this customer service?
Right now, the black out dates for travel don't get me as hot under the collar as they used to; we can't afford to travel because of this ridiculously high interest rate we're paying monthly!
Bank of America knows my credit history to be very good; they couldn't-or WOULDN'T take a chance?

"good card..."
but avoid sending in your payment late, even by a day. $39 a clip a late payment will cost you. Also, the annual fee is a little steep.

"I really don't see everyone's problem"
I have had my Visa Classic card now for about 3 years. I have had NO PROBLEMS WHAT SO EVER! Bank of America CS is really helpful on the phone with me and I have had no problem using my free miles. Bottom line, don't make ANY late payments and never go over you're credit line and you are well taken care of. As of the APR, its fairly high compared to my other airline reward cards but overall i like it. Reward miles are really easy to redeem if you vist www.usaiways.com

"worthless miles!!"
I have accumulated 150,000 miles over the past 8 years, and also paid $450.00 in annual fees.
I have TRIED several times to redeem my miles for a rountrip ticket to Europe. It "costs" 50,000 miles, and I have accumulated enough miles over the years for THREE roundtrip tickets to Europe!! But... try to use your miles for a free flight... IT'S IMPOSSIBLE!!! ... every single week of the entire year... It is impossible to ever cash in your miles!!!!!! I am extremely unhappy. I have literally thrown my money down the toilet by paying the annual fees. I have EXCELLENT CREDIT... I can have any other credit card that I desire for NO ANNUAL FEE! Bank of America should be ashamed to be associated with USAIRWAYS... NOBODY FLIES FOR FREE!! It is a total RIP-OFF!!!!!! I have been ripped off!!!!! All of my hard-earned miles over the years are absolutely worthless!!!! This card has ZERO benefits!!!!! |

"it is the worst card I ever get. "
I have faced lots of problem after I have started use this card. My account is dis-activated because of late payment, which is actually supposed to be fixed before I make the payment. After I called them back, they told me they are sorry and problem is fixed second time, and I can use the card. I use the card to book a ticket. It did not go through. I call them again it turns out that my card was not re-activated.
During 9 months period I have this card. I did not get any benefit from it because I was unable to use it. I paid annual fee plus I lost some money because I use it to book ticket, then re-booking with higher price.
Most ridiculous thing was when I call their customer service, I talked with one of their representative He refused to transfer my call to his supervisor. Actually he claimed that he is the supervisor and it turns out he is lying to me. A costumer services that lye to his costumer that is pretty funny and unbelievable.
I think I will close my account ASAP.

"No Trust but good card"
After finding out I've got perfect credit, I applied for the Gold Card and without finding out why was only approved for the Classic. When setting up the frequent flier account I found the customer support staff to be particularily unhelpful and rude.
The card, itself, is fine though. I can access my account online through B of A and pay my bill there, too. The mileage does add up and has good tie-ins with other companies I use (MCI to be more specific) |

"Most Dissappointing Credit Card"
Bank of america issues their credit cards with great ease. Trying to use their card once received is most painful. 1-2 months after issuance their Secuity will send a letter requesting a copy of your Social Security Card, Drivers License and a recent Paystub. If their data processors do not input this nformation within 1 month of their request they will put a hold on your credit card. They put a hold on my credit card in Novemner 2002 because the information I sent them was never inputted. I have since faxed the required information to them 3 times. I have phoned them 7 time. I have emailed them twice. It is now almost February 2003 and I still can not use the credit card which was issued to me. I now have a credit check and an open credit card on my credit report (which naturally lowers my credit score) for no reason what-so-ever.

""we do it for your protection""
Issue: first day of receiving and using my card (with $25K limit) Bank of America put a stop on it. On the fifth attempt to talk with customer service, due to long waiting times, I was told "It is for your own protection". I said OK, how can I quickly obtain releases as I travel to multiple locations, and tend to make the type of purchases that would be questioned - large amounts in mutliple cities. No answer-except to say it is not their fault if I/service provider cannot wait for 15 minutes, as long as the phone call was in line to be answered, they are doing their job.
I find this inconvenient and most service establishments will not wait for 5 minutes, let alone 15+ to obtain a release--
I have not had this experience with Chase Visa and will return to their airline affiliation program
Would like to know who to write (i.e VP of Customer Service of this group of B of A)
