"Lowered credit limit for no good reason"
USAA MC just lowered my credit limit by more than half for no good reason. I have a FICO score almost to 800, never been late on a payment and have been a long time faithful customer for more than 20 years. That's the thanks I get for being a great customer. By them doing this, its going to mess up my credit score because it will show a higher usage. Thanks alot USAA. I thought you were a better company than that. I feel totally insulted!

"Trustworthy Company"
I love my USAA Platinum Mastercard. I have had a checking account and Debit card through USAA since high school, and when I graduated and headed off to college I opened up the credit card, and they have been an amazing group to deal with. I got a very low interest rate (around 8%) with basically no credit record, and whenever I have a question about my account *or* need financial advice I call them and get a CSR with no wait. They answer all of my questions *or* handle all of my concerns, I have never called twice about any issue. I highly recommend this card, especially to other college students who are looking for their first card *or* people who don''t have a lot of experience dealing with credit companies, having USAA really puts your nerves at ease when you think there is something wrong with your account.

"USAA rocks !"
Fantastic limits along with stellar customer service what more can someone ask for? Rewards are also nice but I will give up a fraction of a percentage of rewards (compared to a few other premium cards) in exchange for ENGLISH speaking customer service reps who are knowlegeable and who can give you a straight answer! Yes I used to work for USAA for 6 years and know first hand Customer Service is number one with this company! Kudos for all at USAA

"The good with the not-so good"
I have used this card for over 10 years (maybe 15+?) and never had to call twice about service like removing or questioning a charge to my card not recognized by me. This is the only card I carry and my credit rating is in the "excellent" category but I have not being able to benefit of
all the extras since I am not active military or a retired officer. I did serve in the military and was honorably discharge but unfortunately USAA does not recognize prior service unless you were an officer. This is my only "undesireable feature" of this card. I receive many offers with "apparent" good features such as low fixed rates, cash-back,etc. but I still prefer the USAA card for the service I have received up to now. |

"USAA Card"
Love the customer service at USAA. The look out for you, and if there is an unusual charge they will even call the house to ensure that it is OK. Not long ago, the number WAS actually compromised- and USAA (not me) caught it right away and asked my permission to cancel and send a new card. In this era of identity theft, it's nice to know that someone has your six.

"USAA wins hands down"
I have had a financial relationship with this firm since the 1973. Also in the same time frame I have had dealings with 6-7 other major credit card firms. None surpasses the ease in dealing with USAA. I have yet to find someone who was not knowledgable or pleasant at USAA and the information was accurate. The rest of big business should be so fortunate.

Most attractive feature: The service provided by this firm is and always been outstanding.
Least attractive feature: I cannot think of a negative feature.. no gimmicks, no tricks!!

"This card is an outstanding card"
A great card from a great company. I never keep a balance on it so I don't care about the interest rate. Nevertheless, the rate is lower than other cards. I like the way that I can transfer money from my accounts to pay my balance and vice versa. The biggest advantage is the overdraft protection it offers in conjunction with my bank accounts. My wife's account the one we use to pay the bills with, occasionally gets overdrawn (she isn't very careful when writing out the checks). Despite recent acquisitions and growing pains, USAA really looks out for the me. I guarantee that they will do the same for you. Thanks USAA!

"Happy to be with USAA"
I am a proud military spouse ( also proud/support all military troops )whom recently applied for the USAA cash rewards card and received the card in a week after applying for it. I have always had very good service with other products offered by USAA and have only heard good comments concerning their credit cards and decided to jump on board too. Also, I just wanted to say their customer service has always been outstanding and very helpful with any need i may had/have.

"Great Card"
I've got two Platinum cards, and this one is better by far. They signed me up automatically for the cash rewards, great customer service, great online banking site for paying bills, and I've never had a problem with it.
And dealing with USAA is unlike any other financial institution. With all the other financial instutions talk of customer service, it's still an almost adversarial relationship. They're either trying to sell you something, ignore you by putting you on hold forever, or shunt you off to a call center half-way arond the world where they don't know anything about the financial product you're talking to them about.
It's not the case with USAA. They're always on your side, like a friend trying to help you pick out the best option rather than a salesmen trying to sell you something or a customer service line trying to avoid talking to you.
On top of that, they've got the lowest rates of any credit card, and the rates and fees they charge for other services are also rock-bottom.
If you're eligable (US armed forces service member or family member of a service member) then go to USAA first for your needs, whether it's car insurance, mortgages, home equity (prime minus .25!), or credit cards. My father was a 1st Lieutenant, so I'm fortunate to have USAA membership.
While my other platinum card is uping fees, changing the rules (like charging 3% now for international purchases!!?!) and in general, being really aweful, I've shifted all of my spending to my USAA card (I don't carry a balance anywhere). The other card languashes, and I use it every now and then just so they won't cancel it (and affect my credit score). |
