"Poor service"
After 9 year I had to cancel the card despite flying on United. No one needs the hustle Chase give its customers. First they charged some foreign purchase I never made, then cancelled it, then charged it again, plus interest for late payment, then, after several phone calls cancelled again. People who were supposed to call back in their security dept. never called back. Then, during foreign travel, though I had called to advise my travel plans, card was suspended for no reason. Back in service after long phone call (my expense) and closed again two days later. Last straw. If a bank cannot help at times you need it most (foreign land where most payments are cash) then I don't need it. Will miss the miles but AMEX offers as good a program.

"What a RIP"
Well I had my united mileage card for a few years. I used online banking with bill pay and opt out for the paper bill. When they got bought by Chase the online banking could no longer log in to thier website (since it changed) to let me know my bill was due. So at this point I missed a payment. This was the first time a payment was missed in the 3years of owning the card. I got a phone call from them saying that my payment was missed an a paymetn was made promplty with them on the phone, I also opted back in for my paper statements. When I got my next paper statement the next month I saw tat they jacked my interest rate to 29.99%. I made another payment of 2500.00 and called customer service the next day. I asked the guy on the phone if they would lower my rate to what it used to be. In a very snotty nasty tone the customer service rep told me they would not do that and it would have to stay on for a period of 6 months with no late payments. I told the agent to just close the account at this point. The agent the replied " oh wait, let me see what i can do". A little battle then insued and I told them I was no longer interested in owning the card ad the account was closed. In the next month I paid off he remainder and a few days later they called to ask if i wanted to reopend the card with a 5K credit increase. I would not own another card by chase if my life depended on it.

"Customer service uses intimidation."
I had this card for 14 months for my wholesale business. I averaged a montly balance of $3-$5k that was always paid in full. We made payments electronically with an online bill payer. Due to a holiday weekend, the payment was delayed 3 days. FirstUSA suspened our card for being late. I was told by a supervisor they would reinstate our account if I made a $25 payment via our checking account over the phone. I told them to cancel the account.
