"Taking consumers money"
I use Online banking very often my problem is that some charges will not show in the hold area..But if theres something that you have that drafts each month.when that happens they will not post the hold payment until your draft shows then they will draft your payment then. in other words if you have 20.00 but your hold was only 10.00 and both posted the same day they will do the larger amount first, knowing that will bounce then the smaller amoumt next ,Therefore giving you two overdrafts...When 10.00 could have cleared...

"Beware this card carries no protection"

I used my former Wachovia Bank card/Visa card during some traveling in Europe last summer. The Visa function was supposed to carry the same protection as a normal Visa card, in case of fraudulent use.
At a low-level rental car company called EuropCar, the employee scanned my visa card at least five times. When I asked what he was doing, he pretended that the card was not registering. (I had been using it daily without problem) Being aware of the scam, I immediately called Wachovia to cancel this debit card and to issue me a new one. I was told that the original card would be canceled but that the new card would not be mailed overseas, but at home. Not very convenient, but at least I thought I was safe. A week later, when I got home, I found and activated my NEW card. Ten days later, the rogue rental car company placed an extra fraudulent charge for $300.00 on my OLD, CANCELED debit card number and Wachovia paid it from my account. When I reported the fact a few days later, and demanded a refund due to the dual evidence of fraud charge and negligence on the part of Wachovia, I was given the “investigation” run around excuse and two months later the corporate office wrote to me and refused to honor the protection.
I took my two sizeable accounts out the following day.
This bank is as much a rogue as the seedy car rental.

"Debit Card"
There is freedom of use, but the best thing is better control of my finances. The bank and the services have been top-notch. This is the best bank I've dealt with since my credit union in Massachussetts!

Most attractive feature: It's from my account. I can truly monitor purchases. Truly NO HASSLE!
Least attractive feature: The 24hr. updates, but it's livable.

"So many charges!"
Wachovia takes $30 for every overdraft, they also take forever to update their online and telephone statements and to post deposits making it impossible to know your true balance. Customer service is terrible. They try to market themselves to college students, then rob them blind by exploiting people with naturally low funds.

"A No Frills Card"
This is a debit/credit card. Money is withdrawn from my account, so I don't have bills, interest, and finance charges to deal with. It's perfect for people of low income.
