| Google them and get information from numerous complaints. Legalized criminals that are part of the reason this country is in the shape it is in financially. They will give you a low intro rate then RATE JACK you. |

Ugh, I''''m totally fuming right now. I just got off the phone with a WaMu rep. He was condescending and spoke over me every chance I got. I called to complain about my high interested rate on purchases and how my finance charge is over half of what I pay monthly. I mean I went from 9% to almost triple that! I''''ve never been late on a payment and have been a responsible customer since 2001!
I asked him if there was anything WaMu could do before I decide to take an alternative route: Closing the account **or** transferring the balance to one of many offers I receive in the mail. Side note -Keep in mind folks, they know who sends you offers so don''''t use this as a bargaining chip if it''''s not the truth...and also closing the account can lower you credit score.
Anyway, I told him that I researched the average APR that WaMu gives customers,and that mine is nowhere near that. He kept telling me that they do "evaluations" on everyone''''s account before sending offers in the mail and that they usually will not consider anyones request via calling like I did. I asked him what did the evaluation consist of so that I can write it down for future knowledge. He said he couldn''''t give me specifics so I asked him to connect me to a manager who could. He said they would tell me the same thing. He kept talking me in circles like I was an idiot. He kept reminding me that this call was recorded and that he could not tell me exactly what was evaluated. He basically said that keeping your balance under its max and paying on time would allow me a lower interest rate...well hello! Bingo...that''''s what I''''ve been saying. He talked himself in a circle to where he allowed me a small opening. He said to give him 4 to 6 min. to look over my account history. He lowered my APR by 11%! I''''m telling you, they''''re crooks. If I did not call and persist, I would''''ve continued to be miserable with a higher APR.

| "Don't Apply for ths card" |
I was suckered into obtaining this card with a very attractive low interest rate. I owed about one forth of my credit limit and way paying at least two weeks before the due date. I always paid 1 1/2 the minimum payment.
Suddenly my interest rate went from 10.5% to a nice 27.99%. This was done without any warning.
When I called the very rude costomer service, I was basically told to live with it. They only reviewed the cards once a year.
They refused to tell me why the rate had increased.
Look for another card. These people are crooks. |

| "Horrible card..." |
| My wife and I have separate cards with WaMu, both former Providian accounts, and our experience since they were bought out has been horrible. WaMu is very shady and sneaky with their operations. They randomly jack up interest rates to 29.99% for customers that have paid more than minimum, never been late, always in good standings for over 7 years. They then offered the option of 1. Keep the 29% interest rate or 2. Close your account. Honestly? This is how you keep your customers? I realize WaMu was the nation's leading mortgage provider in 2001/2002, so they HAVE to be hurting with all of the foreclosures, but that is no way to treat your customers. I REALLY wish someone would bring a class-action against them for these shady antics. |

| "Get This Card For a Free Monthly Look At Your Fico Score" |
I love this card if only for the FREE monthly peek at my Trans Union Fico Score! I only use this specific card for PAYPAL Purchases and make sure to pay my balance off montly so I don't have to pay FINANCE charges.
Other than that, I prolly wouldn't care much for it. I have no issues with it as my APR does not affect me as I pay if off before I have to pay them extra money.
I never use this card for anything else, thou'. |

| "WAMU PREDATOR" |
I had this card for 9 years, was never late, paid over minimum and never went over limit. My reward for being such a good customer was a raise in interest rate from 15.99%(horrible) to 29.99% (predators!), and all this without notice. I made the call to "customer service" (they should really try to think of something else to call that department, since it is a far cry from anything remotely resembling customer service), and was told the reason for the rate increase was a "business decision". The supervisor I asked for next said the same thing.
Needless to say, I made the "business decision" to close the card and will have it paid completely off within six months or sooner. It has become my number one priority to finish my business with WAMU and to never give them another opportunity, EVER, to get at my throat again.
Please take my advice and get out of business with this company if you are a current cardholder, or never be tempted to open one of their cards if you haven't yet... YOU WILL REGRET IT IF YOU DO. |

| "rate increase" |
| Last Year they raised my interest rate for no reason. I ALWAYS PAYed more than minuimum and NEVER MISSED A PAYMENT. They sent out a letter stating that the interest rate was going to be raised and if I didnt agree to stop using the card. I used the card before that date on a cruise for our 25th waedding aniversary and nothing else. I DID NOT get the letter they were talking about. I just noticed the increased interest rate and sky high payment. I called customer service and got someone in India that could care less about my problem. I did finally get some one in the US and they basically told me that I was a bad risk. I had to file a medical bankruptsy 7 YRS AGO. I didnt have a choise I DID not let all of the bills go through the bank ruptsy I payed all that I could. When I got the Providian card(Washington Mutual) it was 5 yrs after the bankruptsy. I have not misssed a single payment on any bill in 7.5 yrs, including the Washington Mutual account. Each time I call I get the runaround that I am not a good person and a bad financial risk. My credit score is 690 on the fico score and all the reporting agnecys have me more than 660. Avoid Wash Mutual they will get you. |

| "Horrible customer service matched by sleazy business practices. " |
| . I had this card for several years without any problems; paid my bill on time each month, never missed a payment, and always paid more than the minimum charge. Recently I refinanced my mortgage and was issued a check to cover the entire card balance, I knew I would not receive the payout before the due date so I called customer service to explain the situation and was told, “No problem” just forward the check when it arrives. Two days after the due date I started receiving up to six phone calls per day at work and at home demanding an instant double payment. Many of the reps could barley speak English and claimed that they could not access my account to read the payment notation, on top of this I was assessed a high later fee. Fed up I asked for a supervisor who with his condescending attitude, threats of trashing my credit score and refusal to reverse the late fee was worse than his subordinates. For some reason three other card providers that I also paid off had no problem with the payment arrangement, did not tack on late charges and did not find it necessary to harass me on a daily basis. With good customer service available from so many other companies this card is now cancelled. |

| "Avoid This Card" |
Essentially, when you sign up for this card you are giving WM a license to steal your money. We all try to pay our bills on time but the reality is that some times the payments we make get there a day or two late. Let me emphasize a day or two late: Not weeks or months. This is the opportunity that WM waits for. My interest rate is over 30%. Can you imagine if you were late on your electric bill and to punish you they doubled your bill the next month? Their goal is to keep you in debt for as long as they can. They are thieves and do not deserve our money. Have you ever spoken to one of their customer service representatives? They sound like they are former collection agents. My advice is not to get involved with this company and allow them to rob your pockets. If you do have the misfortune to be involved with them, I suggest that you find another credit card company and transfer the balance. And another point of advice, when you do transfer the balance, do not close the WM account. Having a credit card balance of zero on you credit report will greatly help your score. Payoff the WM card and never use it – so your help your score and you can stick it to WM.

| I really enjoyed my experience with this card company - liked all of the tools on the website, etc. Just didn't like being sold off to CB&T without notice.... sigh... |
