| "FELT DECEIVED!" |
During the first year I had this card I was very impressed, however, things changed after that first year!
Number one complaint was that they indicate in their promotional material that if the card is kept in good stead for a period of one year you can graduate to a non-secured card? This proved to be "untrue" in my case!
They failed to inform me in any of their promotional litrature that in addition to keeping the card in good stead for that first year(ie: making payments on time and not exceeding credit limit)that a minimum FICA Score of 600 was needed to qualify for the unsecured card, I felt this extremely "deceptive"!
What agitated me most however was their utter failure to address my complaint which was sent to the President of their Card Services Division on two seperate occassions!
There is "no excuse" for this type of "unacceptable" behaviour from a firm that is making money off of you... the fact that they totally ignored both written inquiries says a lot about their committment to real customer service!
The advise... "be careful"! |

| "Hope this card helps!!" |
| Ive had this card for almost a year now.Ive had no problem but I also pay on time and dont go over my limit.My main beef is that they report to the credit agencies that this credit card is secured.Doesn't this basically defeat the purpose?They are suppose to offer a REAL card after one year of being good.We'll see...Also,no interest on your deposit. |

| "Good card to (re)build credit" |
The Wells Fargo Secured Visa Card is a good credit card to (re)build your credit. Especially the relatively low annual fee of $18 is very competitive with other secured credit cards. Is has a reasonable APR and comes with some usefull perks.
The minimum deposit for the collateral is $300. To build up your credit history, you really do not need a larger amount. The interest rate maybe on the high side, but if you always pay off your balance in full, it doesn't matter really. Their automated voice response system is good and you can always find out what your balance is.
Once in a while Wells Fargo will send you offers that are a real bonus to the holder. For example, there is an online Well Fargo credit card quiz and you can win a free phone card worth $10 (if all question correct, you WILL get the phone card no matter what). |
