The First Progress Platinum Secured MasterCard® Credit Card by First Progress hands you the tools and resources to help build your credit and move forward alongside financial progress.
The First Progress Platinum Secured MasterCard® Credit Card is a secured credit card that allows you to make a security deposit, insured by the FDIC, to establish your credit. Unlike other cards , your credit line is based on your security deposit rather than your credit score. Additionally, your account is reported to all three major credit card bureaus, and your deposit is what's available to use on a regular basis.
- • Sign up with a minimum $300 security deposit
- • Variable APR for purchases and cash advances
- • Set credit limit between $300 - $2,000
- • Full-featured MasterCard(R) protection and benefits
- • Low annual fee of $39
Available Credit Based on Security Deposit
The First Progress Platinum Secured MasterCard® Credit Card allows you to establish your credit line via a security deposit. You select your credit limit - with a minimum of $300 and a maximum of $2,000. Any credit limit increase depends on credit approval and may be set at $5,000 over time.
Your available credit consists of your credit limit minus any outstanding balances and your annual fee.
Standard APR for Purchases and Cash Advances
Your APR for purchases and cash advances varies based on the prime rate. As of mid-2011, your APR for purchases is 14.99% and 19.99% for cash advances. A foreign transaction fee for when traveling overseas is 3% of your total transaction amount. A cash advance fee is $10 or 3% of your transaction, whichever is greater.
Pay your balances on time and you won't be charged any interest. However, your APR will consistently remain low even if you are unable to pay your balance in full every month.
Set your own credit limit
When you sign up for the First Progress Platinum Secured, you have the option of setting your individual credit limit with a $300 minimum in your account. However, your account may not exceed the maximum limit of $2,000.
Your security deposit is insured by the FDIC and your account activity is reported on a monthly basis to all three leading U.S. bureaus, including Experian, TransUnion and Equifax. This allows you to build your credit line and establish financial growth in due time.
